Gas jet maybe blocked
you can do this by insert avery high pressure air to clean them
yhermostat may also be a problem or the switch does not work properly or could be on the way round
try do the opposite instead max put it into minimum
if no other [problems maybe your gas pressure is low at it can happen in very busy towns
and sometimes it takes along time to heat
ther is a way in checking temperature with a right thermometer used by professionals
anyway it is more likely to be dirty or blocked jets

I have a whirpool range top that i purchased that i now realize i do not have 220 V circuit available (replacing a gas range top). I have 120v available. The range top has a sticker that says 'connect...

It will not operate. The control panel will work but you will have no heat. The top and oven need 220 to actually heat up. The only thing that will work on 120 will be your clock and a warm zone if there's one.

Hi When I try to light the gas oven, it will light but as soon as I release the button the flame goes out

Are you giving the thermocouple time to warm up?
You have to hold the oven knob in for a while to warm the thermocouple before the oven will stay alight. If you are doing this then the thermocouple needs replacing.

See my other posts for a link and price as it was at that time.
