Try this solution for your camera :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.
The following link is for cellular phones water damage , but it can be used for digital cameras water damage also :

The overlay on the joystick is damaged and needs replacing. The button is broken and is making contact turning the chair back on. The overlay is an easy repair peel up the old one clean off the old adhesive with some alcohol and Qtips, then peel off the backing and stick it on. Easy peasy. When my online store is back up I sell them for about $75. Depending on the joystick overlay you need.

Mobility scooters are designed to be caught in the rain without damage.
If it turns out yours has sustained water damage I suggest a very strong complaint to both the supplying dealer and the manufacturer.

There is a limit to what the unskilled user is able to test and I suggest first reading the user manual for hints and tips and the location of any fuses or safety breakers.
First check the state of charge of the batteries...

98' cbr 900rr turns over but wont start after getting caught in a bad rain storm...i changed the air filter, oil, and plugs...

Sounds electrical, try checking for spark first. Don't ground the plug to the valve cover because it's made of magnesium and will burn a hole thru it. Or at least that's what I've heard.

My canon ixus 960 has water damage. It was in my rucksack when I was caught in the rain. It won't work at all. Can it be fixed?

As with most electronics the only possible fix is to remove the battery and keep it in a warm environment for a good while to let the electrics dry out.

Sadly though the damage is usually done and condensation on the optics probably is not a good thing for taking clear pics.

I would likely say you will need to replace the camera sadly :(

Water damage

Given the complete lack of any further details then I can only give you the standard answer: water and digital cameras don't mix.

When they do it almost always means that the camera is beyond any possibility of economic repair and must be replaced. The very few that do survive are normally like a newspaper that's been caught in the rain: it may dry out, but is never fully useful again.

Camera won't turn on, possibly due to water damage

It is best you send it to the service, water + optics + electronics is no good. Dont attempt to open and repair yourself, you do not possess the diagnostic tools that the service has.

Camera (DMC-FZ10) got wet in a rain storm. Now

I suspect that water has damaged the electronics board in the camera. Unfortunately this is not a waterproof camera. Water will corrode the electronic components and eventually ruin the whole camera,
My suggestion is to claim it on insurance as they wilol repair or replace it on Home insurance. No one puts a camera in water intentionally unless its an underwater camea, so its considered an accident
