Question about Compaq Presario 700 470024-192 Notebook
Now there are two 512 memory chips to give you 1gb. Do I need too put in two 1gb chips or can I put in one chip of 2gb? I,ve read you need too put in two memory chips on this model.
As long as the memory is the same speed

Is it okay then to buy one 1GB stick, leave one of the 512MB sticks in, then have like 1.5GB memory? Would that work?

Page 43 of this manual seems to have the best documentation on memory for this machine. I saw a 2GB max in another document and this shows the biggest module as 1GB. I would believe that infers a pair.
