Type F2 at boot and go into bios. On the Advanced menu -> disable speed step. Type F10 to save settings. Retry the recovery, it should complete this time. Once the install has completed, update from the microsoft web site. Make sure update kb885626 is installed before you enable speed step.

My computer keeps freezing during recovery.

if you are trying to make the recovery disk and in between it freezes then dont worry it might happen that the limited period upto when you can make the disk is expired...which is decided by the manufacturer...so for this you call up to the manufacturer of the computer and either ask for the set of recovery disk which can be only provided by the manufacturer...or else go to retail shop and purchase it.But better go for the manufacturer's created disks

My sansa fuze keeps freezing

Start the sansa updater, set sansa to recovery mode plug into computer. unplug when told sansa should restart (Lock sansa press and hold rec and menu until recovery begins)

Also you can Try
Reset All
NOTE: THIS IS AN ADVANCED OPERATION AND RESTORES ALL SETTINGS
TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS. NORMAL USERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION!
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.....

Vaio VGN-FZ340e freezes without reason!

Possibly you have a programme running in the background that is causing the freezes, could be a screensaver. i think at sometime microsoft will issue an update that will fix this problem.

My computer won't start up

Hi Theresa,
Have you tried booting into safe mode? Press the F8 key during boot.
How about the selection Last Known Good Configuration?
Let me know if that works.

Hi! computer help pls!

You need to run the recovery discs that you received with or burned after you first got your computer. Some computers have it built in and you can access it by hitting the key that it tells you during boot up to run a system recovery, often F10 if its an HP or Compaq.

Freezing or shutoff on boot, setup or minutes into operation

Try this:

Boot the system with your Windows XP installation disk. When the boot options window appears select R for recovery console. Once you have logged into the DOS session type: fixmbr and hit the enter or return key and select "y" for yes you want to do this. Type: fixboot and hit the return key again, hit "y" for yes.

My sansa keeps frezzing

Sounds like your music may have become corrupt.

You can follow these steps to erase and start anew.

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://rapidshare.com/files/67740173/e200fw01.00.12.exe____

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.
