Hard drive passwords are embedded in the firmware of the drive itself. You need to try to find out what the password was.
If you put in a new drive, that drive will not contain the password routine. It is the physical drive that is password protected, not the system.

There is an article about this at this site.

Forgotton hdd password on Toshiba satalite oro a210

you could try this,,,Others have been able to change the password in BIOS. Found this:

1. The HDD password cannot be removed using Security Assist.
2. Using SETUP BIOS (i.e. start machine; Hold Esc; Press F1), Tab to the HDD Password section which should be displayed as follows:
HDD Password
HDD = Built-in HDD
HDD Password Mode = USER Only
User Password = Registered
3. Tab to the "User Password" field and simply enter the old password and then a new one twice (once to verify) as one would do normally. If you don't want a password, just press "enter" twice

Locked myself out of my hard drive by putting a password on it in BIOS. I cleared the admin and user pwd's, but came up with a new one for the drive. I can't remember it.

You can either remember it to use your hdd or purchase a new hdd and start again with a fresh OS then restoring your data from your backups.

I forgot my hdd password and cant get into it is there a way to get passed it please help me

There are companies that will open your hdd for you at a fee but there will be no data on it as it is all encrypted.
Purchase a new hdd, install your OS and programmes on it and never forget your password again.

After boot, appears ENTER PRIMARY MASTER HDD USER Password i need the password @ solution to boot up my lappy... thanks

How Do I Change the Primary Master HDD User Password?

Prior to loading an operating system, your computer will first execute the BIOS program. The BIOS has an extra password feature, called the hard disk drive (HDD) user password, that can't be bypassed and provides a layer of defense to keep your data secure. To change an existing HDD user password you will have to load the BIOS menu, which is only accessible during the computer's operating system reboot procedure.

Instructions

1. Close any windows that are currently open on your computer. Eject any discs inserted into the optical drive and disconnect any peripheral USB devices.

2. Open the "Start" menu and select "Shut Down." Turn on your computer once the operating system finishes shutting down.

3. Press the key your computer uses to load the BIOS menu. For example, with Dell computers tap "F2" when the "Press F2 for Setup" option appears. Press the "Access IBM" key on IBM laptops or "F10" on HP desktops.

4. Navigate to the BIOS tab that contains the HDD password option, which will usually be the "Security" tab. Some computer manufactures instead include the password option in the "Advanced" tab.

5. Scroll down to the option labeled either "User Password" or "BIOS lock" and hit "Enter." Type the current master HDD user password when the prompt appears and press "Enter."

6. Input a new HDD user password and hit "Enter" again. Navigate to the BIOS tab labeled "Exit" or something similar.

7. Move over to the "Save and Exit" entry and press "Enter." Select "Yes" and tap "Enter."
