-   I have an i870 that will not read the microSD card either. I got the phone used and the card was erased. When I started the phone and inserted the phone it said to format the card. I selected ok but the format failed. I can read and write to it on a computer but my digital camera cannot access it either. Today I bought a new card from the Sprint store. I inserted it and it seemed to format but after taking some pictures and stuff there was no data on the card. I confirmed that on my computer -- the 3 folders for music, pictures, and video which are created during formatting were not there. Now the phone will not recognize the new card. It keeps prompting me to format it but it always fails. Please help. dguiley@mac.com -   Guest
This same thing happened to me recently. My reader seemed to stopped working after I accidentally dropped my phone at work. I tried everything from formatting it to trying different memory cards and nothing worked.
I manually added the music files on my 1gb SD card at first and figured I should do it again and it didn't work. I then synced my music through Windows Media Player but that still didn't do the trick.
The solution in the end was to take the SD card out of the phone, turn the phone off, put the SD card back in while the phone is off, turn the phone back on, and then update your library. If that doesn't work you may have a faulty reader that came with some of the phone when they first came out.
Hopefully that helped...
