I bought crackdown on the xbox live game marketplace but it keeps freezing in the beginning when it says signing in to gamer profile

Go into your settings menu on your 360, and erase crackdown from your hard drive, then re-download. This should correct the problem.

Goes to load up then freezes, every other game i play on here does just fine. it only happens on (rdr) red dead redemption, why?

Interesting problem. I have a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure the console is well ventilated and there is no dust/lint in the vents.
  2. Clear the system cache. Go to My Xbox>System Settings>Memory, then highlight any storage device and press Y. Then select Clear System Cache then select yes. This may remove some game updates but you can download them again.
  3. Try removing your hard drive and then starting the Xbox to see if it will freeze again.
  4. This might be a long shot but- try installing the game to your hard drive (if it isnt already). Go to My Xbox, select the game, press Y and select Install to hard drive.
  5. Try the game on another console to see if the disc is damaged/flawed.
Hope some of this helps.

Game freezes up on 360xbox

If your game is freezing, it is most likely due to your game being scratched or otherwise damaged. Sometimes, a game can become damaged without you even realizing it. There are two ways to fix this.

1) (Obviously) Buy a new game.

If you don't want to go through the hassle, and would rather just get a fresh copy, go do it. Also, if your hard drive is relatively small or nearly full, I would recommend this.

2) Install the game to your hard drive.
The Xbox 360 has a feature that allows you to install a game to your hard drive. By doing this, the Xbox will run everything from your hard drive, which will make a scratched game no problem. You still need to have the game in the Xbox for it to start, however (anti-piracy measure). Installing is easy. Go to the dashboard, and scroll to where you would normally start the game from. But instead of pressing A to play the game, press Y on it and you should have the option to install it.

Note 1: If you can't install the game fully because it is so badly damaged, borrowing a friends or renting a copy and installing that one will work fine also. As long as you can start the game, you will be fine and freeze-ups will go away.

Note 2: If you have installed the game and it's still freezing, the problem is your hard drive. Some hard drives don't play well with some games, for an odd reason. To test this, try saving and loading the game from a USB flash drive. If it doesn't freeze, just continue to play on the flash drive. You can transfer all of data for the game onto your flash drive from the memory options in system settings.

My xbox 360 has the 2 redlights on it how do I fix it

I had the same problem when playing the game, Crackdown, since this game uses the CPU and GPU (chips) very, very heavily. The 2 red lights mean that your system is overheating. Check the Microsoft site to see if your system is still under warranty. If so, call Microsoft and see if they can repair the known and admitted flaw(s) with the Xbox 360 and its cooling issues. You may need to have the "three red rings" issue to take advanage of this free repair though. If the system is out of warranty and you will have to pay to have it repaired by Microsoft, you might as well save a lot of money and do a similar cooling fix yourself. You can start by first searching Youtube for "Taking apart an Xbox 360", "How to fix your Xbox 360" and "Red Ring of Death". You may also be able to search Craigslist for people that will repair and upgrade your Xbox 360 for you, at about $30 to $50 or so.

In case someone is reading this post and having trouble only when playing the game Crackdown, note that this game plays heavily from the DVD and will have many loading issues and lock-ups if the DVD-ROM drive is bad or going bad. You can always test your game disc on another XBOX 360 to see if it is the disc or your system. Game stores will usually help you as well with testing a disc if you bring it in.
Also, try other intensive games to see if they load and play well. This will prove that your system is probably good, but that it most likely is the DVD-ROM drive that is failing.
If you have a game other than Crackdown that locks up, slows down, etc during DVD-ROM play, try copying that disc to the Xbox 360 hard drive and playing it from there to see if it still locks up or slows down as before. This will show you if the DVD-ROM drive is bad or if it is something else in the system.
Unfortunately, Crackdown can not be copied to the hard drive. This was planned by Microsoft. It is not allowed for some reason.

System can load games, with the exception of one

Try to install the game onto the HDD drive.

To do this simply insert the game onto the drive and go to the menu where it shows the game disc.

Press Y on the image of the game and select "Install to Hard Drive".

After the game finishes install select "Play From Hard Drive"

If the game fails to install try cleaning the disc with warm water NOT hot or cold water but WARM. After that dry the disc with a soft towel or some sort of SOFT cloth by wiping away from the center of the disc.

I think it's the console. Try to phone on a Nintendo-Hotline or something. (You can find the phonenumbers in the instructionbooks)
Maybe the disk-reader is damaged.
Best solution:
Send your Game Cube to Nintendo.

Xbox 360 keeps freezing

Clearing your Xbox 360 Hard Drive cache
I've had this problem myself whilst playing Oblivion, although it was not only freezing in some places but also being very unresponsive and really slowing down when trying to talk to NPCs. Anyway, clearing the cache on your Xbox 360 is very safe and does not affect any of your game saves, profiles, demos, videos, etc (although it does delete some downloaded game auto-updates, which will be easy to download again afterwards). It is mainly temporary data that is stored in order to make certain areas of games load faster. These can sometimes corrupt, making your Xbox struggle when trying to read them and eventually just freezing up.

To clear your Xbox 360 cache you need to do the following:
"a. Locate the System section of the Xbox 360 Dashboard. b. Select Memory, select Hard Drive, and then press Y to view the device options screen.c. On the Xbox 360 Controller, press the X button, press the X button again, press the left bumper, press the right bumper, press the X button, and then press the X button again.d. You will be prompted to confirm system maintenance, select Yes by pressing A."Source:

CAPC: Is the Game (LOST PLANET) as far as I can tell you. I have the same problem with it and unfortunatedlly it has something to do, not with the console, but with a patch from Microsoft. We should wait until a new realeased patch from Microsoft is posted on their site. For now the only hard way to finish LOST PLANET is that at every concluded mission to quit the session and wait until it AUTO-SAVE itself to XBOX 360's Hard Drive. SithPitt
