Goes to load up then freezes, every other game i play on here does just fine. it only happens on (rdr) red dead redemption, why?

Interesting problem. I have a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure the console is well ventilated and there is no dust/lint in the vents.
  2. Clear the system cache. Go to My Xbox>System Settings>Memory, then highlight any storage device and press Y. Then select Clear System Cache then select yes. This may remove some game updates but you can download them again.
  3. Try removing your hard drive and then starting the Xbox to see if it will freeze again.
  4. This might be a long shot but- try installing the game to your hard drive (if it isnt already). Go to My Xbox, select the game, press Y and select Install to hard drive.
  5. Try the game on another console to see if the disc is damaged/flawed.
Hope some of this helps.

Game freezes up on 360xbox

If your game is freezing, it is most likely due to your game being scratched or otherwise damaged. Sometimes, a game can become damaged without you even realizing it. There are two ways to fix this.

1) (Obviously) Buy a new game.

If you don't want to go through the hassle, and would rather just get a fresh copy, go do it. Also, if your hard drive is relatively small or nearly full, I would recommend this.

2) Install the game to your hard drive.
The Xbox 360 has a feature that allows you to install a game to your hard drive. By doing this, the Xbox will run everything from your hard drive, which will make a scratched game no problem. You still need to have the game in the Xbox for it to start, however (anti-piracy measure). Installing is easy. Go to the dashboard, and scroll to where you would normally start the game from. But instead of pressing A to play the game, press Y on it and you should have the option to install it.

Note 1: If you can't install the game fully because it is so badly damaged, borrowing a friends or renting a copy and installing that one will work fine also. As long as you can start the game, you will be fine and freeze-ups will go away.

Note 2: If you have installed the game and it's still freezing, the problem is your hard drive. Some hard drives don't play well with some games, for an odd reason. To test this, try saving and loading the game from a USB flash drive. If it doesn't freeze, just continue to play on the flash drive. You can transfer all of data for the game onto your flash drive from the memory options in system settings.

Xbox360 fallout 3 freezes when I try to leave sub basement.. water purity quest

Fallout 3 has an issue with loading data from the hard drive(as does several other games). It causes the game to freeze more often than most games. Playing the game from the disk, rather than the hard drive should fix the problem. Feel free to continue to play it from the hard drive once the issue has cleared up.

System can load games, with the exception of one

Try to install the game onto the HDD drive.

To do this simply insert the game onto the drive and go to the menu where it shows the game disc.

Press Y on the image of the game and select "Install to Hard Drive".

After the game finishes install select "Play From Hard Drive"

If the game fails to install try cleaning the disc with warm water NOT hot or cold water but WARM. After that dry the disc with a soft towel or some sort of SOFT cloth by wiping away from the center of the disc.

Games freeze, no red lights

There are really only 2 options when looking at this type of error. It is either:
1. A bad Disk
2. An internal problem with the system

A bad disk (or multiple disks) will occur when they become scratched, dirty, or destroyed. The best option here is to clean the disks with a non-abrasive cleaner and hope that it solves the problem. A good test is to try a brand new disk to see if the problem goes away.

An internal problem is very hard to nail down. Freezing can be caused by a number of factors but it is almost always associated with an overheating situation. It is important to make sure that the XBOX has plenty of room and ventilation around it. In fact, the worst thing that a user can do is to place the console inside an entertainment center nook and close the door. It is recommended that the console sit outside of the entrainment center and away from heat sources. There are a number of add on components that you could buy to increase the airflow into the console as well.

If this is an XBOX 360, also consider that the hard drive may be going bad. The best way to test this is to get your hands on another hard drive that you know works and test it in your console. If the problem resolves then the issue is related to the hard drive.

Deleting files from memory card

If the memory is corrupted then the corrupted data will show as blue squares. Delete them. Make sure that there is no game inserted when you do this, as the game may be causing the freeze.

Can't get 2 games to load... they freeze. The hobbit and NBA game

I think it's the console. Try to phone on a Nintendo-Hotline or something. (You can find the phonenumbers in the instructionbooks)
Maybe the disk-reader is damaged.
Best solution:
Send your Game Cube to Nintendo.

Xbox 360 keeps freezing

Clearing your Xbox 360 Hard Drive cache
I've had this problem myself whilst playing Oblivion, although it was not only freezing in some places but also being very unresponsive and really slowing down when trying to talk to NPCs. Anyway, clearing the cache on your Xbox 360 is very safe and does not affect any of your game saves, profiles, demos, videos, etc (although it does delete some downloaded game auto-updates, which will be easy to download again afterwards). It is mainly temporary data that is stored in order to make certain areas of games load faster. These can sometimes corrupt, making your Xbox struggle when trying to read them and eventually just freezing up.

To clear your Xbox 360 cache you need to do the following:
"a. Locate the System section of the Xbox 360 Dashboard. b. Select Memory, select Hard Drive, and then press Y to view the device options screen.c. On the Xbox 360 Controller, press the X button, press the X button again, press the left bumper, press the right bumper, press the X button, and then press the X button again.d. You will be prompted to confirm system maintenance, select Yes by pressing A."Source:

CAPC: Is the Game (LOST PLANET) as far as I can tell you. I have the same problem with it and unfortunatedlly it has something to do, not with the console, but with a patch from Microsoft. We should wait until a new realeased patch from Microsoft is posted on their site. For now the only hard way to finish LOST PLANET is that at every concluded mission to quit the session and wait until it AUTO-SAVE itself to XBOX 360's Hard Drive. SithPitt
