Question about Crosley Conductor CR73 Turntable

I always get static when adjusting the volume of my Crosley CR73, and sometimes the volume doesn't change smoothly and sometimes, I think, one channel stops working completely.

Sounds like you have a dust build up on your volume switch? buy some electrical contact spray ( aerosol type ) remove the switch/knob........just pull it towards you, remove the knob and spray a bit......not too much and refit the knob and twiddle it about with the power off and then try it? repeat if necessary? good luck.

Potential problem is the needle is not sitting right. Remove than re-install the needle following the instructions on this manufacturers page

I'm unable to adjust the volume on this turntable. I think if I replaced the volume control it would work, but I just can't find parts online for any of the Crosley turntables. Thank You.

Before you replace the volume control just try spraying the contacts (or the whole thing if you can't get to them) with Servisol Video 40. As sometimes dirt and dust gets in an makes it sound like the entire sound is being cutt off yet sometimes breaks in as you turn the control!

I can't get my CD Player to open

The cd mechanism is very hard to get to in this model but sometimes through the bottom panel
(if one)! Maybe some gears can be seen to turn
in mech. These systems are usually not worth fixing
but you can "luck out"!

Computer to stereo volume is very quiet...

Unless you have a choice of inputs, nothing.
If available, you can try a magnetic cartridge input which is much more sensitive than 'Line.'
It may be screechy though, different curve.

Volume setting is very high

That is unusual, and sounds like a manuf defect. If your unit is still under warranty, I would say send it in. If not, give them a call, and get a quote for repair. Unfortunately, due to the quality and value of these units, it will probably be cheaper to buy a new one.
