Question about Crosley Conductor CR73 Turntable
Sounds like you have a dust build up on your volume switch? buy some electrical contact spray ( aerosol type ) remove the switch/knob........just pull it towards you, remove the knob and spray a bit......not too much and refit the knob and twiddle it about with the power off and then try it? repeat if necessary? good luck.

Potential problem is the needle is not sitting right. Remove than re-install the needle following the instructions on this manufacturers page
