Question about Panasonic NN-T990SA Microwave Oven
We have a NNC980W microwave convection oven. It is approx 5 years old but was VERY rarely used in the first 4.75 years. 3 months ago, we started using it regularly (at least 10 times a day) and today it stopped working. The unit has electric power getting to it, as the display works. The problem occurs when setting a time for the microwave and then hitting start. The unit attempts to start as the light inside turns on and the timer reduces by 3 seconds before the light inside turns off and the display goes back to the clock. We also noticed that previously when we would start the unit, it would hum as soon as the microwave generator would start working. Now, the unit does not have the hum sound and the only thing that happens is the timer starts counting down for 3 seconds and then "click off". To try to isolate the problem, i tried to run the convection oven - the same problem was encountered - it started the convection program for 3 seconds and then it turned off.
Do you have any ideas what could be the problem with it? Can this problem be repaired? Is it worth repairing the unit or should we consider buying a new microwave?
You have a bad inverter board.
