Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
Try this quick trick, first:
Start your computer and press the [F8] key after the splach screen and before Windows tries to load (Like getting into Safe Mode).
At the menu prompt, select:
"Start computer in last known good configuration"
It should start ok. At that point, you should be able to download/update your av software.
Another really quick av scanner is "Stinger' By McAfee:
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ (Click on Download v10.)
After Stinger, down load FREE AVG from Grisoft.
It pre-scans all websites before you click on a url.
Hope this helps!

You need to get a flash drive and go to a friend and download the following from WWW.filehippo.com:
MalwareBytes Malware Remover
Avast 4.8 Anti-Virus
After that go to www.threatfire.com and sownload the free version of threatfire. This program monitors all web pages that enter the computer.
Install these on the infected computer. I suspect you have a malware issue that prvents you from using Internet Explorer or another browser to access cleaning software.
Install MalwareBytes Malware Remover first and run it. When it runs choose quick scan and let the program run. After it scans and finds the infection(s) it will notify you of what it had found. Choose delete all that finds.
Next, un-install any anti-virus currently on the system and install Avast. When the instal completes it will ask you if you would like to schedule a boot scan, choose yes and reboot the computer. This scan will take place on the next boot and will scan all files because it activates before windows actually runs, so all windows files get scanned. Hopefully this will rid you of all the infected files. Install threatfire after Avast completes its scan and windows settles. When all is said and done, go to the Avast registration page and fill out a short registration page, a license key will be sent to via email, this will make your installation full featured for a year in which all you have to do is re-register.

If your PC wont let you download any security software then you should go to a public library and download your software, save it to a disk and go home and install it....run the software and check for updates if you cant update, run the software without updating after the scan attempt another update, I recomend AVAST ANTIVIRUS HOME its free for a year with registration and works great
