I did not see any fuses on or around control panel. Is there somewhere else it might be?

  • jlyon Dec 25, 2007

I replaced the switch kit, monitor, with c/t fuse and I received 0 results. I am wondering if it could be the transformer, power? I pulled out the key pad and did not see anything with "4A". And if you are talking about the door sensors, yes I did see those and part of the switch kit I ordered was one of those.

    Please help me.

what do you think about the possability of the problem being the control board. And I still see nothing with 4A or 10A. There is something on the board that is about the size that you describe but it says TDK on it and is saudered to the board. Could this be it.

This is a possibility. TDK makes a number of components. Is there a label screened to the board saying what it is? It is always possible that the board is bad. The transformer can be tested. All transformers are a/c. Try this first: Unplug the unit. Using a multimeter set on ohms, low scale, check across the plug. You should get resistance. If op4en (no needle change from open probes), it is a fuse you haven't discovered or the transformer. Get to the wiring for the transformer. Test across the primary (110V) side. Some resistance reading now indicates a bad fuse. Open circuit is a transformer problem. Disconnect the transformer on the other side from any least one connection. Perform the same test. You should have some needle or numerical reading. No movement...bad transformer. I hope this helps. If not, get some assistance.

They are always inside the keypad enclosure. If they are on the board, they are labeled with something that says "4A" or something like that...they may not look like a fuse. Did you find the sensors?

Jl, first, are you sure that you have power? Plug something else in to check. Also, unplug the unit, wait a full minute and repower. Sometimes this resets the units. Second, fuses are generally located inside the keypanel area. With the unit unplugged, remove the screws holding the panel on. Inside, you will find at least one fuse. You will also find thermo sensors. They are black, about the diameter of a dime and 3/8 inch thick with two wires coming out of them. Check them for continuity.

t might say something like might be 10A . It could be the
transformer. Door sensors are not your problem. Over temp sensor could be. They are about the diameter of a dime, black and 3/8 inch or so thick attached to the keypad side of the cavity wall. Two wires coming out. If they go bad...nothing might work. Use a multimeter to test them.

No power... No lights or Fan. The 110 outlet has power. I tested it. The display is blank. I have unplugged the microwave but I had the same results. Is there a fuse in the microwave?

Most microwave ovens do have a line fuse. I can't be completely sure if your does, since you did not supply a model number. If the cover is removed, the fuse should be close to the power cord. Hope this helps you.

We installed a GE Spacemaker Microwave. I put some potatoes in and the microwave was working, suddenly it went off. No light nothing, it just went completely dead. Came back ON after 15 mins,started...

The main fuse may be intermittent, causing complete power failure, the other possibility is a defective door switch not operating properly, or loose plug in the power feed, I suggest a technician to take closer look at the system because this could prove tricky to find the culprit.

My Sharp R-1460 Microwave Oven blanked out on me. I replaced the fuse and all lit up. When I went to turn it on to run, it blanked out again. Can you direct me to what the priblem might be?

I suggest the door switches are probbaly faulty. A job to say which one but you may find that it is caused by contamination or condensation.
Hope this helps.

Mcb780w won't work

Chances are its the fuse on the circuit board. You will have to remove the outer shell of the unit to access it.
