Question about PreSonus FIREPOD (673454000539) Audio Input
When I turn on my Firestudio Project, the blue light blinks one, the levels flash green for less than half of a scond and then the light goes solid red. It no longer recognizes that it's even plugged in. This happened after I downloaded the new drivers for a 64-bit Vista computer.
It said "these canges/dirvers will take effect the next power cycle" (something along those lines.......) so i quit everything, shut down my computer and while the computer was shutting down i turned off the power on my Firestudio. I started the comp. up and same thing happened.
I read somewhere not to touch the firestudio's power button during the firmware update so i didnt, but once i restarted the computer, what they said would happen if i touched i "during" the firmware update, happened after the shutdown.

Check the settings of the ASIO drivers, to low on milliseconds can cause problems, also check if there are no tasks running in the background like
antivirus that can cause problems.
Disable also the screen savers.
If your using windows try also to make the page file on an other
harddrive, this reduces harddrive activity on the drive where
cubase is on, go for this to Configuration Panel\System.
Click on the tab Advanced, click on the button performance and
click in the new window on advanced, click on the button of virtual
Note that when your having alot of extended memory installed in your computer the less it needs to write to the page file, meaning less harddisk activity and more performance for audio and video aplications.
Also make shure the system is free of ad- and spyware and other unwanted software.

20 minutes after posting the same problem.... I figured it out, ahah... So one case is that you turned off your unit before the firmware update was ready (caused internal damage to your unit) so you might have to send it back. However, what I did was I uninstalled the firestudio cd/driver w/e the heck it is that came with it and then installed it again. That way the universal driver deals with the software for the firestudio the way it should. After doing that and restarting it, simply turn on your unit and it should be red for a few seconds (i thought i was still screwed) but then it turnes blue and syncs... so try that... i might just work.
