Error E:61:10 means that some elements of your lens system were misaligned. Now the simplest way to get rid of this problem is to do the very thing that caused it in the first instance. Bang the lens in a controlled manner against a hard surface(wood is preffered) while switching it off and on several times until the fault goes away . dont continue banging it when the fault goes away!
Good luck.

No not another, sorry my friend but this was one, yes just one reason why DVD cameras are no longer built, everyone has had major problems, and Sony dropped this media as it simply never was reliable, grab a Hi 8 digital camera (TAPE) it is the only safe way to record movies today.

It can and do take some time to use these disks, this is the reason camera makers dropped putting DVD in movie cameras, simply never worked well, grab a digital 8mm camera if you like reliable cameras.

Yes, it is serviceable. Some parts might have moved from they're place. Take the camera to a local electronist or Sony dealer and they will surely help you with the problem.

I just need a new CHARGER

Looks like you can get one from amazon.com for about $20:

I've checked the camera specs, and I don't see that it has a USB connection.
