TV will not turn off and TV buttons preform the wrong functions
My TV will not turn off (by remote or manually). I have to unplug it to turn it off. When I plug it back in it powers up. No function on the remote works. The TV/Video button on the tv does not work. Here is where it gets weird: the TV volume buttons cycle through "video 1-4" when tapped, and control volume when held down. The channel up/down buttons on the tv make the screen goto "Video 1" but will not change the channel.......they only make it goto Video 1.

Did you try unplugging and replugging the set to reset? Checking remote battery? Actuating each remote function (button by button) twice in succession to reprogram? Also, could you have inadvertently de-programmed by pushing the PROG or similar button? Mfrs not uncommonly but that button in the wrong place where users, especially button mashers, are apt to push them trying to turn of the set. The suggestions above might reprogram. Other wise contact customer service for the TV and let them guide you.
From your post I understand that the tv is not turning on even if you use the button on tv, if that is the case there is nothing wrong with the remote control, and from the blinking light shows that there is something wrong with the tv. Get it checked by a qualified service guy.
First of all, forget about the remote and see if the TV functions normally using the buttons on the front of the set itself. If the TV will not power on with the power button on the set itself, then something is wrong inside the TV. If the set works fine from the front buttons but no longer responds to that remote, then the remote has either gone bad or was accidently set to a different brand. In this case, look for the original book that came with the remote (or TV if it is the original remote) and follow the instructions for setting the remote back to Zenith. Try that and post your results here.
press play and stop together and that acts as the "action" button and brings you into the menu screen. you have to press those 2 buttons again to select what function to preform. volume +/- and channel +/- act as a cursor for moving around in the menus
Try unplugging the set for 12 to 24 hours. if that does not work, theres a problem in the remote sensor circuit or the microprocessor circuit. its going to need a pro to fix it as it meeds trouble shooting.
