Question about Protron PLTV-32 Television
The power supply in the pltv3250 is a known bad problem, and thankfully replacements are easy to find on ebay or other internet sellers. Symptoms are usually a red light or no power light and completely unresponsive to the touch panel or a remote. I was able to find one at Power-On.com for $59.00 plus shipping, far cheaper than others on ebay. Their part code is lcd 194-3f (194W LCD power supply). It takes approximately 30 minutes to replace, from removal of the base to re-installation of the base.

You will have to have the set checked by someone to confirm this,
but most likely there is a problem with the TVs internal power supply.

unfortunaly most of the off brands do not have any type of support.
i might suggest to go to www.shopjimmy.com or googlr your make and model.. somtimes you find boards being sold that were taken out of sets with broken panels but the boards worked.

I always tell my clients to check the PSU " power supply unit" there is a fuse on most of these check to see if its blown if it is then you will need to do the folllowing remove the fuse and take it down to a radioshack or a DYI repair shop and get the EXACT same fuse if you do not you can risk a whole lot more problem, i also tell my clients to have a qualified repair person look it it some will give you a free quatation before work is done. Hey bro, I seen online a buncha people keep saying its a power supply thing that you wont find cheap online.
Do this for me:
1 Lay the TV on its face on a table with towels layed down.
2 Unscrew all the screws you can find.
3 When you take the back off you will fine a plug still plugged into the backing so unplug that.
4 Now you will see metal covers covering the guts or what have you. You wanna take the cover off the one on the left it should be the smaller of the two covers like 6in by 5 in.
5 Now look at the capacitors, some are covered up by these metal brackets. Remove the smaller of the 2 brackets to see all of em.
6 Ok back to the capacitors, if you're unsure of what capacitors are, they are cylinder in shape and standing straight up n down, theres black ones, purple ones and like a green one sittin there.
7 Notice how some of these capacitors are not flat on the top, they kinda look rounded?
8 Unplug everything plugged into the chip board and take it to radio shack and get the capacitors you need along with a soldering iron, or you can write down how many uf's and voltages they are and just bring your paper there.
9 You really should get the right uF its probably (1) 820uF 35v (2) 680uF 25v (1) 220uF 25v and (1) 220uF 10v.
10 Crappy thing bout Radio Shack is its hard to find some of em that have the same uF and Voltage. I know you can get a higher voltage but not sure of the uF.
11 If you do get the right parts which should be around 10 bucks or less, try your luck de-soldering the bad ones and pushin these new ones thru. Its not a hard job at all.
12 Do me a favor go to youtube and type in Polaroid tv repair and the guy fixes his tv the same way except he's only got a couple bad caps. It gives you a perfect example of how to do it.
Lemme know how you make out. If it dont work, lemme know what happens. My Email is FlareSideMuzik@gmail.com
