I suspect your ignition module is bad try this.

Ignition Coil Test
You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. There is no need to bend the electrode. HTH
It may be flooded too. You shouldn't need to choke it for more than 2-3 pulls.
Husky (cold):
1, Ignition on/off to on
2. Pull (close) choke (also sets fat idle); pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually twice)
3. Push (open) choke (fast idle maintained) pull starter until it starts. Usually first pull)
1., 2. (without pulling starter), 3..
Hope this helps

Make sure the air cleaner foam is clean. I sometimes use a squirt of "Starting Fluid"into the carb. If it has spark and you've replaced the plug, you'll get it to rev-up and run if the fuel line is supplying gas/mix. Don't overuse the starting fluid because it removes the oil from the piston and can cause excessive wear, but the 2cycle mix will recoat the cylinder with oil once it starts. It's a quick fix to see if the engine will run, but if it starts momentarily and then stops , means there are other problems present.

Poulan woodsman 2150 starts & runs for a few

This is fuel starvation, start by replacing the fuel filter inside the fuel tank, use a piece of bent wire to hook the fuel line and filter out of the tank, check the condition of the fuel hoses up to the carb, any signs of leakage and you will have to change the hose. See if this works before we go into the carb to locate the blockage.

Poulan 2150 chain saw starts and dies after 5 seconds or so then wont start

Try a few easy things first, hook the fuel hose out of the fuel tank through the filler hole and replace the filter on the end, follow the fuel hoses up to the carb and check foe any signs of fuel leakage, replace the affending hose if cracked.

Poulan 2150 saw will not start.

Many saws today have a alluminium key moulded into the flywheel, if the key has sheared the timing will be out and it will never start, remove the flywheel and check the key.

I am unable to pull cord to start, on my Cainsaw model 235.

Remove the spark plug and try to pull the starter--if ok, open the throttle and pull through several times to expel excess fuel from the cylinder. Check for blue snappy spark at the plug after this--if weak or nothing, try a fresh plug gapped at 0.020". If the engine still doesn't turn after removing the spark plug, it may have been run without oil in the fuel which will cause serious damage to the piston/ring(s) and cylinder. Remove the muffler and inspect these parts through the port behind the muffler--if badly scored, they will need to be replaced--an expensive process even if you do the work yourself. You might consider a new replacement saw if an estimate is very high. Hope this helps!

Poulan 2150 put new fuel lines on geting gas trew line put the primer buld will not prime and somtimes gets stuck but will release win i pull it of carb

Check the condition of the primer bulb for hardness or cracking. If ok, remove the line that goes from the bulb back into the tank and try to pump fuel from the carburetor. If nothing, switch the position of the other line at the back of the primer and try to draw fuel again. If hooked correctly, the primer will pull fuel through the carburetor body filling all cavities and into the primer bulb. If still nothing, try switching the lines at the carburetor (it should not pump backwards through the check valves in the pumper chamber). If still nothing, switch the primer connection again. Some combination of line connections should allow fuel to be pumped through. When correct, reconnect the loose primer line to allow fuel to return to the tank. This is a good reason for replacing only one line at a time. Hope this helps!

Poulan 2150 very hard to pull start..first time this season trying to start...seems like too much compression...pulls nice and easy with spark plug removed..with the spk plug in...very hard to pull..still...

If fuel leaked into the engine over the winter, it could cause very hard-to-pull problems. Remove the plug, ignition off, with the cylinder/head down, pull it through vigorously to see if expels any fuel. Replace last year's fuel with fresh fuel mix. It's a good idea to allow the engine to run out of fuel before storage. Does this engine have a compression release? If so, it may need cleaning to work properly. Hope this helps!

I have poulan 2150. it will not start.get gas and spark.

Has it been sitting around for a while not being used ?
If so I would dump the fuel out into an appropriate container and fill saw up with a fresh mix of fuel. I also ALWAYS put in about a cap full of SEA FOAM.
Make sure spark is nice bright blue, if not install a new plug.
Now pull on the choke, pull it once or twice, and shut off the choke.
Now does it start ?
If that does not start, I would pull the spark plug, drip a little fuel mix in, put plug back in torqued to mfg. specs. and see if it fires now ?
Please let me know what happens.

I have a poulan 2150, won't stay running, why?

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled (black and carbon deposits)
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check cylinder compression

take the muffler off and look inside.there is probbaly score marks on the piston.if there are the unit will need a piston and cylinder.starting fluid does nothing but burn pistons up,it drys the cylinder out so it has no lubercation
