I am writing a program in vb6(sp6) using access as database. The program works well in the project as well as after compiling. But I receive RUN TIME ERROR 2147217842(80040e4e) when I try to install it in another computer. I have surfed enough to have informations but the problem still exits. Please if I can have any solution for that.

Problems with VB6 Make .EXE command:

I guess your compiling logs are absent, or have been corrupted, which are only used to when you publish/make an executable.

To Confirm this, Make your EXE through Command Line Compiler, and How See this

If its still not working and your Project is important, then make a blank project and copy paste all Source and Objects there.

I want to programaticaly modify an SQL statement in VB6

If I remember correctly you need to call ExecuteQuery or something similar otherwise it does not update the database.

Remove error 0*80040e09 cannot update

When putting files up on your hosted site (or on your own server), make sure the file and the directory have the proper writes to Read/Write/Create. A special file called the .LDB file must be created and if it can't a ReadOnly status could be issued. It's a file that contains the names of the users currently accessing the MDB file. It stands for Lock Database.
If you are running on Windows add these attributes, if it's linux (not sure why you'd use MDB on a LINUX box, but it would be chmod +777.

Write into excel format

Your code does not save in access format it just makes a copy of existing file. You need to open table by table and export data using csv format.
It can be done using access OLE to export, or
write some VB code to access the database tables via ODBC and save row data to csv file

Write into excel format

You can use ADO or SQL to open the excel file directly (provided it is constructed correctly, ie fields names) and write the data to it without Access.
That might be eaiser thatn converting it from Access to Excel, if that can even be done.

To fix the page layout to

Oomar,

Using Word with VB6, I show how you set the page size to A5:

Sub AutomateWord()
' Declare the variable.
Dim objWD As Word.Application
' Set the variable (runs new instance of Word.)
Set objWD = CreateObject("Word.Application")
' Add a new document.
objWD.Documents.Add
' Add some text.
objWD.Selection.TypeText "This is some text."
'Set Page Size
objWD.ActiveDocument.PageSetup.PaperSize = wdPaperA5
' Save the document.
objWD.ActiveDocument.SaveAs FileName:="mydoc.doc"
' Quit Word.
objWD.Quit
' Clear the variable from memory.
Set objWD = Nothing
End Sub

Hope this helps!
