Since you indicated that it had an igniter I assume you have a natural gas or propane model. I had some trouble with a Hotpoint dryer and replaced the igniter. That didn't solve the problem. I then decided to just change the gas solenoid and the flame sensor at the same time and it worked fine again. I got them both cheap from Ebay from the same seller.

The flame sensor tells the machine if the ingiter was able to light the gas burner. If it doesn't sense the heat it will turn off the gas solenoid so your house doesn't fill with gas. The gas solenoid is an electrical valve that lets the gas flow into the burner. You should be able to hear the gas solenoid click when it opens and then your igniter will glow and start the flame. If it shuts itself off within a minute of that then I would suggest the flame sensor as a starting point. If it never clicks then I would start with the solenoid.

Good Luck and post back here if you solve it for the next person with your trouble.

My mastermind 708 dosen't spin after wash cycle. It spins fine in the wash cycle but dosen't drain water or spin in the spin cycle.Pease help

Your empty pump filter is blocked with debris. If it can't evacuate all the water then it wont allow the spin cycle to start. Locate the filter (probably behind a little door at the botton of the front of the machine). Remove, clean and remove the debris, re-fit and all will be well

Dryer not blowing hot air

When you say 220 gas dryer I'm not sure what you mean. If it's 220V then it should be an electric dryer, not a gas dryer. Troubleshooting is totally different between gas and electric. If it's electric (large 30A 220V plug) then good chance heating element(s) have gone bad. You can look up parts on www.searspartsdirect.com Have your complete model number. IF it's gas, it may be the pilot ignition has failed

Whirlpool duet dryer doesnt get hot

Is this a GAS Dryer? Or, an ELECTRIC Dryer?

If this is an ELECTRIC dryer, the following link will give you some advice on how to troubleshoot a no heat problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576548-dryer_runs_but_does_not_heat

If this is a GAS dryer, the most common failure for heat related problems in a gas dryer is a weak or blown igniter on the burner assembly.

The way the ignition system is supposed to work is like this:

1. Select the dryer cycle and press start.

2. The drum begins to spin and the igniter begins to glow.

3. Once the igniter reaches a certain current potential, the gas safety valve opens.

4. Gas is introduced into the manifold and you have ignition.

NOTE: It can take roughly 30 to 90 seconds from the time you start the dryer to the time it takes for the gas to ignite.

NOTE: This is a designed safety feature of the appliance that prevents free flowing gas from accumulating in your home without ignition. That's why you typically don't hear any gas flowing when you have an igniter problem. You might think you have a gas problem when actually you have an ignition problem.

You can purchase replacement parts (if required) at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

The first three sites on the list also offer some excellent exploded view diagrams of the appliance.

If you have any questions, please post back with your complete model number and let me know. I hope this helps you.
