Setup microphone not included with purchase of used txsr803

I recently purchased an Onkyo TXSR803 from Ebay (not a dealer). It hasn't arrived to my home yet but I will assume that the setup microphone will not be part of the package. Seller said that what I see in pictures is what I get. Well, that would be the receiver and the remote, period!! No mention of a microphone.
My question is, can I use any old microphone to do the speaker setup, or do I have to find a way to purchase the type that should have come with the receiver?? Every time I try to logon to a flag appears that say cannot locate site. What is with that??? Please advise as to where I can get the microphone I shoould have gotten in the first place.

Actually it looks like a small palstic disc so you might jsut get it so look for it. You should get one of those radioshack cheap mics with low impedance if you do not get it.

The problem is with the HDMI daughterboard in the AVR is bad. This is a well documented issue on this interweb! A general search in google can confirm. Onkyo remote won't control Samsung components.

I got an Onkyo RC-717M remote control. It is the remote that comes with the Onkyo TX-SR706 receiver. It is a learning remote. When i entered the cde for the Samsung Blu-Ray it did the same thing as the other remotes I got from Onkyo, the pause, next / previous track buttons wouldn't work for the Samsung BD-P3600. I used the learning function of the new remote and programmed it to work. It works ok now but it sure was a hassle to get it done. In fairness i should have called Onkyo support but their support hours don't match my schedule.

Is the onkyo mic optimizer compatible with yaama receiver

No, they are brand and model specific. If you visit a local retailer that sells Yamaha, tell them your model # and they may even have a mic you can use. If not, let me know, I'm a Yamaha dealer and can get it for you or point you in the right direction to get it. Hope this helps

7.1 speaker setup: no sound coming from right front/surr speakers

Solution to having no sound coming from certain speakers in a 7.1 speaker setup for TX-SR606 receiver when playing a DVD.

Review the cable setup for the DVD player since it was identified as the source of the problem. Best to unplug and plug in the cables to ensure they contact the back of the receiver's RCA jacks. Redo the microphone setup for Audyssey 2EQ calibration. A good chance that it is the cable that may have caused the malfunction and loss of sound from the speakers. The cables can come loose during setup and not plugged all the way to the back of the RCA jacks or a defective cable causing signal loss.

Onkyo TX-SR806 7.1 Channels Receiver I bought a reciver just 4 days back. It worked fine for 2 days and yesterday when i tried to increase the volume, it shut off. I tried troubleshooting to see if there...

If you have disconnected all connections from the receiver including your sources and the unit shuts down and goes in protect then there is an internal shortcircuit on the receiver and you would need to send that to an authorized service center. Now, since you just bought it 4 days ago, if you purchased it from an authorized dealer of Onkyo you could have it replaced since its way within the 30 day return policy. But, if you have purchased it from circuit city, unfortunately your option would only be the service center for repairs. If you send it to an authorized service center, you would need to put in a copy of your sales receipt together with a brief description of the issue you are encountering. Where did you purchase your 806?
