How to setup my ipod nano

I downloaded the software for it which is itunes and then connected my ipod to the comp. but it does not seem 2 work if someone could help me greatly appreciate

    I down loaded itune software. I click on program and box comes up that it can't find or create "iTunes" folder that by default in should be in folder "My Music". I can put data on ipod drive but it doesn't show up or play anything.

It sounds like you might need to change some of the itunes settings. you open itunes and plug your pod in and see if it shows up on the left side of the window in with the playlists. if it doesn't then there is an interface problem which could be something as simple as the cable. if it does show up, then you click on that icon and you can change your pod settings.

You need to have iTunes. You can download the latest version at www.itunes.com. After the setup, plug in the nano.

When I try to download music from pc to my ipod, pc says connect


Hmmmm check wit the data cable once.. try using different USB ports els different data cables itself..

- if cable workin fine den try doin a hard reset.. i.e with d iPod plugged in 2 d comp try resetting iPod..

-Els check if ya iPodz getting recognized in iTunes.. if itz gettin not gettin recognized reinstall the itunes software.. or follow dese steps-

-if itz gettin recognized in iTunes n not gettin recognized in comp den follow d same steps til troubleshooting.. under dis go to d 4th link i.e iPod is not recognized properly by computer when USB drivers are not installed properly r out f date..

If none f dese work den derz another step to it.. may b disk mode step which am not sure f.. try finding out regardin diskmode n may b dat'l help ya..

I have just bought a second hand ipod nano generation 3 and it worked fine until I clicked onto the reset settings. It now seems to have locked and i have no idea what to do ? PLEASE HELP


  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
f the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

  1. Ensure that you have an active Internet connection as new versions of iTunes and iPod Software may need to be downloaded to your computer.
  2. Download and install the latest version of iTunes if you do not already have it installed.
  3. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
  4. After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
  5. Select your iPod in the Source panel and you will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.

Computer wont recognize ipod


ok if u have windows u need to do a search and type in anything that has to do with ur current iTunes and delete everything but the music folders and after u need to reinstall itunes and then plug in ur ipod after iTunes is open and try restoring the ipod.

Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.

After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
