I am renting a townhome and cannot reprogram the thermostat. It is a Honeywell Magic Stat Model #97-4730 Rev. A. I looked on line and could not locate this number.

That is actually not the model number. That's some sort of a code on the flip-up panel with the programming instructions, right? You have to remove the thermostat from the plate that holds it to the wall and look on the back to find the actual model number. Yours is probably model CT3200. If so here is a link to the owner's manual on the Honeywell web site:

Honeywell mains fit room stat t6360b red light do not come on and don't seem to be any power to the main wire but fuse box is ok

The red light only comes on for a call for heat. You can go on line and go to the Honeywell website. Go-to thermostat instructions and put in your tstat model and it will tell you how to wire and install the stat

Honeywell thermostat keeps going to "leave" status and increasing the temperature in our house and we can't figure out how to reprogram it to stop

909443f3-bf75-4ef2-8114-c56995256244.pngWithout speaking with you live I can only suggest you call 1800 Honeywell they have excellent experts there to walk you through the setup of your stat, you could kill the power to the unit 1 hour and remove the stats batteries to reset to default but calling Honeywell will be a better easier experience.

I have a honeywell thermostat magic stat/32 model 3200. It reads celis and not farinheit. Just started doing this.

Remove main stat from subbase. On back of main stat there are some screws used for different settings. Screw "C" if for fahrenheit and celcius. Screw in for fahrenheit and out 1 turn for celcius.

Honeywell thermostat manual

The model number is going to be on the thermostat. It is not unusual for the number to be on the back of the stat, meaning you may have to take it off the wall. It could also be found betweenthe base ans the stat.

Once you have the model number googel "Honeywell XXX" with XXX being the stat model number. If you can't find the stat, you can go to the Honeywell web site and do a search, matching your stat, by the pictures and functions. It is a bit tedious, but it works.

Honeywell digital thermostat stopped working

Sounds to me like you have a low voltage short. If the stat had no display until you installed the battery means there was no voltage for the stat to work. Putting the battery in proves the stat works, no motors turning on probably leads to a blown low voltage fuse generally a blade fuse on circuit board in indoor unit. Good Luck
