My mothers 800 Series drier shuts off after running for about 10 minutes. After it cools down it can be restarted, then shuts down again. It has two temperature sd swtiches on the air exhaust. Could one...

there are temp sensers to shut the element off to control the temperature(could be overheating) as well as temp senser to shut it off if it overheats either one could be bad.

Our dryer is a GE profile gas dryer. After a couple of loads drying it will stop after about 20 minutes and we will have to restart. What is the problem?

Possible that there is lint buildup on the motor and it is shutting down on overheat. Remove front of
dryer and vacuum out lint or blow it out,BUT PLEASE disconnect unit from wall outlet or trip breaker unless you want a very tight hairdo.

Sounds to me like a thermal fuse. The link gives you multiple scenarios and you can even order replacement parts. I have used it myself with success on washers and dryers. Good luck!

My DBSR453EBww dryer shuts off before the clothes are dry.

Possibly the motor is overheating due to lack of ventilation, or the lint filter requires cleaning, make sure the outlet is clear at the rear of dryer, and that the vent hose (if fitted) is not kinked.
You could also have a problem with the motor itself which is causing it to overheat and the cutout is stopping the motor from working until it cools down enough to start again.

Plz rate my solution.

Dryer shuts off and won't restart until it cools off

more likely a bad motor ..excessive lint build up in dryer will reduce air flow through motor causing it to overheat problem is by the time the lint problem is found and corrected motor is already gone

Dryer used to overheat and shut down. was hard to restart, had to hold start button down. now will not start

Possibly bad capacitor on the motor. A bad motor can "mimic" a bad capacitor also. Without a capacitor tester, install a new capacitor, it's easy and cheaper than a new motor. Good luck!

Kenmor dryer Series 80 110 668 14690

based from your story, you are tiggering a thermal overheat protection device. as the device heats up, it would trip off the dryer, and comes back on again after a few minutes but as the heat increases, the device is being triggered faster until the device would no longer trips back because the dyer is so hot that it would take about 10 mins to cool down. i think this is just a secondary problem, your primary problem could be lack of air passing through the heating element. please check the stroller blade for dirt of flint and debri, check also the outlet duct, it could be clogged with flint also. i hope i was able to solve your problem.
