Logitech Z-5500, no sound coming out

I have just purchased a Samsung 56'' DLP HDTV. It has all of the outputs for a/v cables. I have tried hooking it up to my Logitech Z-5500, but I am getting no sound out of any speakers. I have also tried hooking up my Ipod to it but still no sound. When I run the speaker test, there is only white noise in the speakers, no the 'pink noise' it should have. I have tried all settings with no success. I am using a coaxial cable from the TV to the Logitech. Any suggestions?

Re: Logitech Z-5500, no sound coming out

Hi there, Mr Dan
Happy Holidays
well, you can change, the coaxial cable for another optical? is better, if you got an optical input. or optical output to input on your SPK. that should work.try the test with a movie on.or sound continue.

Hook mz506 surround sound to my Samsung tv

Typically surround sound is run through a receiver or stereo. The sound from the tv is carried to the receiver by cables (hdmi or Audio-Video connected to input area of receiver). Then the speakers are connected to the output area of the receiver.
If you are not using a receiver, then the speakers must be able to connect directly to the tv and you have to see what kind of cabling your tv supports.

Hey there,

The 3.5mm socket is the only thing you can plug into on a mac for speakers.

Have you checked to make sure that the system volume is turned up? Use the volume buttons on the mac keyboard to turn it up.

Let me know if this does or doesnt work and we'll try something else!

Good luck :)

verify if the computer has a digital output that matches your speakers (5.1 or 7.1). Also, verify that the cable leading from the PC to the main speaker box is OK. Also, the speakers may come with an installation CD, so you'll need to install the accompanying control application.

Like i have everything hooked up and everything set to 5.1 sound but there is no sound coming out of the speakers at all, i plug my headset in and it works but not the z-5500

If you have already checked to make sure that you did not mute the source of your audio, the problem is either with your cabling, or the Z-5500 itself. If your still under warranty then take it to your local Logitech repair depot. If you are out of warranty you may want to order new cables from them to see if that is your problem.

Logitech Z-5500

Well you have some options, you can either live with 2 speakers and change the settings back to default. Im assuming the colors you have are orange black and green. black= the surround sound speakers. orange= center and subwoofer. green=right left front

Now if u want true surround sound then you need to buy a new card that had all the ports for your speakers.
