Question about SanDisk Sansa View 8GB MP3 Player - Black

1 Answer

Problem with viewing pictures and videos

I have a problem with viewing pictures and videos on my MP3 Player. When I select a video, it shows an icon (similar to the one that means there is no album artwork for a song, except its a takemarker). It still plays the audio, but doesn't show the picture. Same for when I select a picture, except I could see it as a thumbnail.

I've already deleted the pictures, but I still kept the videos, which are the videos that came already on the device.
When I try to upload JPEG pictures onto it now, it says that it has one or more properties outside of device limits and that I need to convert it.
Help please!
(PS: Sorry for long explanation)

u may check it carefully and follow this guide:
The Sansa Media Converter (SMC) software is required to convert and transfer videos and photos (pictures) to your Sansa player as well as the memory card in your Sansa player.

We can not get video or pics. to transfer. we've tryed syncing it and just moving the file over to the player. we have windows xp

Pictures
Plug in your MP3 Player. Open MY COMPUTER, your MP3 player will show up in the scroll on the left side of the screen. Go into your documents to select an image and simply drag and drop on top of the folder called ALBUMS under the GPX. This will put images into an album on the player.

To See the images once on your MP3 player ,
1. Turn on the MP3
2. Hold MODE BUTTON
3. press up or down until you select PICTURE
Your images will appear as a list.

I find that .gif images and .jpg images work the best.

Video
Video files must be .AMV formatted to work on this MP3 player. Below is a link to an amazing converter. It’s FREE and will convert your entire file.
http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070610062401AAZXp2P

Once you have the video files formatted to .AMV

  1. plug your MP3 player into the computer
  2. Go to MY COMPUTER.
  3. Find your .AMV VIDEO
  4. Drag file to the Scroll Bar on the left, hold the file over the GPX DEVICE
  5. Two folders will appear under it. Put file into ALBUMS
To then access videos put onto the device. Hold the MODE BUTTON on your MP3 player until you are returned to your menu screen. Scroll to MOVIES and your videos will be there. :D To return to listening to music or looking at Pictures, hold the MODE BUTTON and simply select your desired destination.

To view the official instruction guide that came with the GPX go here:

I want to remove video from my philips sa3025/37

if you want to remove the media from your player totally just insert the player to your pc, right click on the icon and click format. a window pops up again and click format. but this process will totally erase all the files. if you are unable to view the video file in your player it is of unsupported format(.flv , .vob real and vlc player files) remember most of the players support only .wmv(windows media player files)

Sansa problems

I still haven't figured out what happened when it froze, but I solved the other problem... I just switched the options to "show hidden icons" for some reason those four folders were shown as hidden.

Pictures/movies

For your pictures, you drag them in the PHOTO.DIR file of your player, for your movies, you convert them in the MTV format and you drag them in the MOVIE.DIR file.

There is nothing to install exept the driver if you have Win98. To convert your videos, follow the instructions below.

Open the drive in which you inserted your mini-cd and double-clic on the folder you see.

double-clic the Video Converter's icon

clic on input video

Select your video

In the «Output Frame Size» box, select 160X128

clic on «Start Convertion»

Then, you take your movie from the file where the original is.

Only a couple of mine are showing up. My guess is that the pictures are either the wrong format or that there is simply no photo loaded in the particular MP3.
