Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Flyback? What else could it be?

My TV when you try to turn it on the green light just flashes. I thought it might be the Flyback. So I ordered a new one and chaged it, pretty simple. But it still won't come on, the power light still only flashes about 3 times. You can hear it trying to come on but it does nothing else. So what else could it be. If you know please post it, also if you have the part number that would be great so I can order it. Thanks!

OK this is all the stuff I've done to this TV. Checked fuse it's good. Checked onboard soldiered fuse it's good. I installed a new flyback it didn't change any thing. I have also seen were people have had a repairman come and said it was the front controls cause it. Repair man unhooked for them until the front controls came in and some peoples work with it unhooked until it came in to change. I tryed this but still it done the same thing. So I guess it's not the front controls. Also I read around online were people have unhooked the black wire coming from the flyback to the splitter and it came on. But I tryed that also and it didn't work. I'm still reading around about it. Next thing I'm going to try I guess will be the splitter just trying to firgure out where to order is. Be nice to find a place that takes paypal so I can order it that way.

Same Exact Problem with Same Model- But still no solution that I have found. I was looking for a flyback to replace it with too, but parts are hard to find. Service man said they can't get parts anymore for this model since RCA dropped parts and phone support.

Flyback is just one of many problems that may cause the rca itc22 chasis to shutdown. the fact that the green light flashes idicates that your processor is recieving power and that the processor is seeing a problem. DId you chech the horizontal output transitor. when u replace flybacks thats the first thing u check. there is a number of items that can shut it down. Technicians have special tools that can read the processor and find the errors that shut it down. the main board can cause problems also it the data becomes corrupt.

Have you even replaced the bulb / lamp on this TV - other than the green light - did they turn solid red / orange at any point? My initial thought is you need to replace the bulb.

Re-insering the flyback wire is usually very easy. Push in and give a slght turn and check to see if grabbed. It sounds as if there is more issues than flyback wire. TV should turn on without one crt connected

I just posted a reply to you. Its most likely not the flyback causing that symptom.

Check 3 capacitors on deflection board where the flyback is but they are located on front of board cp150 2200uf 16v cp111 330uf 35v cp114 220uf 35v Look at top of capacitor cp150 if it looks like it is bubbled on top it is bad so replace all 3.

Tv will turn on

leadfoot,
i believe the problem is the flyback transformer. try cleaning by using a small aerosal can. this will either correct the problem or you might have to replace it.

flyback transformer stores energy so i would suggest hiring a professional technician.
