Low compression most likely. Try changing the spark plug and change the oil. Sometimes the mower won't start if the oil level is too low. If that doesn't correct the problem, then you need to either rebuild the engine or replace it.
There are cam rods in the front of the engine. Sometimes, one may break. Open the cover to check. Of course keep sufficient oil in the crankcase, but if it stopped while you were running it, I don't think that is the problem.
check the oil level might have low oil sensor on it. Also make sure the engine is clean (no built up oil and dirt on the motor itself or the fins on the motor)
the drain plug should be on the side of the engine that the muffler is on near the bottom of the engine, may look like a small pipe with a threaded cap. remove cap and drain oil into a pan. when empty replace cap. remove the dip stick and pour about a 1/4 quart (to start) and check for level, if still low add more (little at a time) until it reaches the full mark...good luck
there is no filter. but when you drain the oil. start by adding a 1/4 quart and check the level. if still low keep adding (little at a time) until it reaches the full mark on dipstick...good luck
start out by adding a 1/4 quart then check the dipstick for level. if still low keep adding (a little at a time) until it reaches the full mark..good luck
