Question about Panasonic PT-45LC12 45" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
This Rear projection LCD tv is about 1 1/2 years old and has developed a red spot about the size of a small pie plate in the upper right quadrant of the screen. It was bought at Circut City and they want to have nothing to do with it whatsoever.
Can you tell me what might be a probable cause and what might be involved in repairing it?
This is a FIRMWARE problem. do not let someone replace any parts in your TV.
I had a repair guy come out with a small computer and he took the back off of my tv, plugged in the computer and the red dot slowly began to disappear.
this was in March 08, no problems since

If you have not already solved this - I have been told by two TV techs that this is due too the light engine going bad, needs to replace, about a $600 fix. I have the same problem and am shopping for a new set. SO, my Panasonic cost me $2,000 for two years of service, not that good in my opinion : (

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
