Question about Whirlpool Dryers
I suspect the humming sound is the motor running. Further, I suspect you have a broken belt.
Remove the top and front of the machine. You will find a belt there - it is about 1/4 inch by (fill in how big your drum is).
You can get replacement from RepairClinic.com + their expert instruction on installation. Alternatively, there is probably somewhere in your town that has the part available.
If it it not the belt, your motor is probably stalled - DIFFERENT PROBLEM. Probably more economical to replace the machine.
