Question about Kodak EasyShare Z612 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Memory card I got this camera for my birthday and my mom bought two memory cards. The one I'm  having problems with is a Digital Media 512MB secure digital. I've used it alot and have had no problems until now. It says "unrecognized file format" when I put the card in....and now I can't unload them from the card to my computer. So I pushed menu and went to format and clicked memory card and I decided to erase everything to have my memory card working and it STILL DOESN'T WORK! Imagine that! I'm so mad at technology right now!

Re: memory card

You need to reformat the memory card.

2 ways you can do it...

- you can do it in a card reader...(right click the card reader icon at your PC and select Format)

- or you can use a 3rd party shareware program called Pocket Mechanic to do it for you...

I have a Kodak EasyShare C330. I have a new memory card Kodak SD Card 128MB. When I insert it in the camera, a message displays stating memory full. When I try to format the card to the camera I received...

This error message means that the card is corrupted or formatted for another digital camera. Turn off the camera. Insert a new card or format the card.
Try to format the memmory card using a card reader and the PC this should solve your problem if not you have to replace the memmory card.

Nikkon coolpix L1 After downloading memory card .. then putting back into camera. Reading says "cannot read memory card." Checked card out at store verified that it is good. Why does it not work in my...

A couple things you might try.. remove the card carefully and check the position of the "lock" tab. Make sure it is fully in the unlocked position - not locked or a point between the two positions. Reinsert and try again.

It sounds lie you're using a card reader to download the pictures - try formatting the card while in the card reader via computer. The card should be completely empty when the format is complete. You can even try copying files to and from the card to make sure its ok and format again. When complete, try again in camera.

If the problem persists, check to make sure the card is on Nikon approved memory card list for use with the Coolpix L1 (provided below):

The following is a list of approved memory cards for the Coolpix L1 digital still camera. These cards have been tested and approved for use with the Coolpix L1.
The L1 uses SD (Secure Digital) memory. Sandisk:
  • 64MB, 128 MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1 GB, 256MB*, 512MB*, 1GB*
  • 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1 GB, 128 MB*, 256MB*, 512MB
  • 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 1 GB, 256MB*, 512MB*, 1GB*
* - Cards rated for 10MB/s (high speed) Other cards have not been tested. For more details on the memory cards listed above, please contact the manufacturer.

The list came direct from Nikon Support. Other cards may work, but only those on the list are approved. Successful use of other cards can not be guaranteed.

I hope this helps!

They are talking about making MiniSD cards that are up in the 5.0gig (5120MB) area. Enjoy!
