How do i clean my air filter on my 31cc 17" weed wacker? It starts, but dies about 6 seconds later.

You can clean the filter with standard soap and water insuring that it is dry when you re-assemble. Suggest lightly spraying it down with a light oil such as WD40 prior to the installation.

This unfortunately is not the common solution to your problem. Likely you either have:
1. A leak in a fuel line (often in the tank) or
2. A cracked primer bulb (if so equipped) or
3. A need for a replacement metering diaphragm within the carburetor. (They reduce there pliability and become ineffective),
4. An exhaust system that is partially plugged (some you simply can remove and clean and some it is very difficult).
4. A faulty fuel tank cap.

Above is the order I would attack the problem - good luck!

Sounds as though the fuel filter may be plugged. The filter is in the tank. Take a look, see if it is visible. Remove and replace. Good luck...Lee

Putting fuel line on right on ryobi 725r 15'' 31cc weedeater

Typical fuel line routing is:

One line (the one with the fuel filter in the end of it) comes out of the fuel tank2.gif and goes to the bottom fitting on the carburator. The second line comes out of the tank and goes to the bottom fitting on the primer bulb. The third section of line goes from the top fitting on primer bulb to top fitting on the carburator. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Have a snapper snap n' go trimmer s31sng - One of the fuel lines or more were cracked and It quit running - replaced all fuel lines but don't think I reconnected them correctly. Do you have a diagram of...

I am not really sure how many lines you replaced. But the fuel line layout on most types of trimmers, weed wackers and lawn mowers are pretty straight forward. There is usually a line inside the gas tank for connecting the fuel strainer\filter. Then a line from the bottom of the tank to the carburetor. This line may also have a fuel filter located on it. On more complicated equipment you may find a breather line that loops back to the carburetor.
Below are a couple of links that might be helpful. The first three are diagrams of a similar 31cc Snapper trimmer and links to other Snapper trimmers. The fourth is to the users manual for your trimmer.
Hope this helps.

Fuel line positions ?

The longest fuel line, which has the filter attached to it, goes to the brass fitting furthest from the primer bulb. The short fuel line goes directly under the primer bulb. Which hole to put it in doesn't matter if the lines are the same size. Just choose the shortest path for each. However, if the lines are different sizes, then the longest line (smallest in diameter), goes in the smallest hole of the tank.
