Question about Optoma EP719 XGA DLP PROJECTOR 2000L 2500:1 CONT DVI-D WITH HDCP Multimedia Projector

Connecting a Optoma Projector to a Toshiba Laptop

OK.. I feel like an idiot but I have hooked this thing up to my laptop (the guy at the store said that was all I had to do) and all I get displayed is VGA Searching. I have done the (fn) (f5) thing and the laptop screen goes black and nothing happens with the projector. Is there some driver or something that I have to install to get this to work?
Thanks!

We are having the same problem. Projector worked fine with out Toshiba M400 for the past few months. Even used it yesterday with the same laptop. No problem. Today we hook it up and it keeps searching. Occasionally it does locate the source at 50 Hz and then the screen looks like the old TV's when the horizontal hold was broken. HELP

I've hooked up my Toshiba to an Optoma projector and powered down and back up/ The projector comes on but the screen on the computer is black. I need to give a presentation and of course in a panic. I've also pressed the F5 as well.

I bought mine new... hooked it up and got the same response. I would have torn my hair out but I am bald! Checked everything. Great frustration. Finally, I thought to replace the cable with one I have on my monitor. Worked perfectly! A brand new cable and it was faulty! Contacted the company and they sent out a new one. Even sent a packet to ship my bad one back so they could find out what happened. No connection problems with the new cable.
