MY DELL STUDIO 1737 IS HAVING SIM CARD PROBLEM

Forgot the dell computer Windows 7 laptop? you can take a Windows password reset disk or a windows password recovery tool.

i would suggest calling technical support to see if the sim card you are using is even compatible with your laptop, you should not be having this problem if it is.

The light under the Caps key must have burned out. Take your laptop to a Dell service center and get it repaired.

Your lcd screen is going bad. You can verify this by plugging an external monitor to your laptop. if the external monitor shows without the vertical stripe it means the video card is good but your old screen is bad. If the external monitor shows the stripe then it means the video card is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if thedisplay shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crtmonitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vgaport. If so that proves your video card is ok. The video will showon most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systemswill require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold downthe FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thruF12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will havethe icon of a display.

It could be one of two things, the ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard is disconnected.

Or it's a defective keyboard.

Keyboards for laptops are relatively inexpensive, anywhere between 20-40 dollars on ebay.
Buying a new keyboard and having a computer technician install it, which takes ten minutes, should be a good investment, rather than getting a new computer or sending it back to dell.

Is the drivers for the the card reader installed?Can you use the card on another computer?If so try formatting the card on another machine and try again.

I recently purchased a new dell laptop and had similar issues out of the box. I ended up having to format the drive and re-installing the operating system from the disk provided because the original install was corrupt.

You should be able to use any video card you decide on as along as it is the correct configuration, ei. PCI Express 2.0 slot.
