Question about HP Pavilion dv2000t Notebook

3 Answers

Same problem, will not boot up, it has a mind of it's own.

Mine never presented these symptoms on a regular basis until i updated my bios to the f.39. Ever since then i have had major problems and HP so far, will not budge on there enhanced warranty that ran out in may 2009 (i believe). They want me to send it to them for repair at a minium cost of 250 Dollars but could be as much as 400 Dollars. Right now i own a 800 Dollar paper weight (shame on HP) i may own a 1200 Dollar paper weight (shame on me).

Are you getting a video. If you are getting a video then software configuration is your issue. If you cannot get a video on an external monitor. The graphic chip is shot. read the previous post about NO VIDEO ISSUES.

Good luck

I do not have an option to boot from USB

Two suggestions:
1. Try F10 or F12 during boot. There might be a boot menu without going into BIOS. Mine is F10.
2. Update CMOS / BIOS.

How to stop constant beeping on bootup after BIOS update and Windows 7 installation?

I know when I flash my bios a lot of things go through my mind until it is over because the last thing i want to see is the computer shutdown. To answer your question it is possible the update you received may have had errors in the files causing the computer to go on a beeping rampage. The only thing I can suggest is contact Toshiba's customer and technical support system to try and get answers.

DH55TC won't accept Radeon HD 6850

several things come to mind. If you are positive the6850 is good then my first guess would be your power supply. the specs for this card says it needs a500 watt or greater p.s. if the p.s. is good then check your Pci slot to verify it is a pcix 16, nd lastly this card also requires 1 gig system memory. try this and let me k now if it doesn't work

I ahve MSI u210 light, i want to know why is now takes long during booting... i ahve already formatted it but still the same.

Here are a few non-hardware-specific suggestions that have worked for me, not in any certain order, but I'd update the BIOS and try the first suggestion:

Unplug all of your peripherals, everything on the board (except HDD and RAM of course), and see if it boots faster. Only leave one stick of RAM in (primary slot), replace it with another stick each boot. If boots faster, replace everything one at a time, booting after each, until you find the problem device.

Try another HDD, make sure it's on the right SATA channel in the BIOS. Or even better, boot from a USB stick with DSL, Puppy Linux or Ubuntu (or whatever flavor you like). Watch the terminal on boot, see if it hangs on a certain device -this works in safe mode too.

Check your BIOS, make sure everything is legit, if it has a "fast boot" select it. May as well update the BIOS too, that may fix everything. You've probably done that though.

Poke it with a stick.

BIOS Update

You didn't state what the operating system is, your brand and model of BIOS or what the problem is you are trying to correct. You should state exactly what the problem is you are experiencing and why you think a BIOS update is likely the answer. Having said that, BIOS updates are usually a simple process, download the update and boot to the USB flash drive, CD/DVD or floppy containing the update. Follow the mfg's instructions exactly. If you are given an opportunity to back up your current BIOS, you should do so.

Even though this is relatively simple, it shouldn't be attempted by anyone not familiar with this type of process. A failed BIOS update can very easily render the computer totally useless until a new BIOS chip is installed, even if that is an option. Given the way your question is worded, I'd hazard a guess that you should have a qualified technician do this for you.

Start you're computer on safe mode an run you're antivirus

Using the F8 Method:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the computer starts you will see your computer's hardware being listed. When you see this information start to gently tap the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly until you are presented with the Windows 7 Advanced Boot Options screen as shown in the image below.

  3. Using the arrow keys, select the Safe Mode option you want.
  4. Then press the enter key on your keyboard to boot into Windows 7 Safe Mode.
  5. When Windows starts you will be at a typical logon screen. Logon to your computer and Windows 7 will enter Safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you require, and when you are done, reboot to go back into normal mode.

Can anybody help how to flash bios into a acer aspire 3680 using the usb?

Even with the automated (windows-based) BIOS updating software, this is not a small matter. I would make certain that you need the update for a specific problem before proceeding. Also realize that a failed or interrupted BIOS update may ruin the BIOS chip resulting in a much more costly and difficult repair. Don't jump into any BIOS update without doing your homework, making sure it's necessary, and make sure you get the correct BIOS for your PC. And make sure you don't interrupt the power once it starts! That will brick your computer for sure!

Acer won't boot

Just go to the acer website and http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_one_150.html and d/load the bios update 3309, open the folder and copy two files to a formatted fat usb stick. Rename the file FLASHIT to FLASHIT.EXE and the second file 3309.fd(bios file) to ZG5IA32.FD rename them precisely like that, please check your spelling is correct. Insert the usb stick into the usb left hand side make sure the charger is plugged in . Hold down keys fn+esc and power up the laptop, when the power led begins to blink release the two buttons and press the power button just once, observe the usb stick flashing indicating it's flashing the bios, please note this can take a few attempts, I once struggled for a few hours until I finally tamed the beast :) be patient okay, I would like to point out if you wish to update within winxp use the same bios update 3309 , extract the zipped files to a formatted usb stick and rename the two files again but DO NOT REMOVE or interfere with the other files in the folder , with the laptop up and running open the folder and click on the Insysdeflash file only within the winflash file, this will flash your bios within windows and update it to the latest version, I read that flashing it when using the fn+esc keys merely restores the bios , I have tested this and mine updated to 3309 only when I flashed my bios within windows using the complete d/loaded bios update as mentioned . It will be worth reading the read me file to see what has changed in this bios version, I can tell you that for those out there that have password issues i.e. hdd set, the need to enter password with upper case is not a requirement more and there are a lot more fixes too, enjoy and I hope this bit of info was useful:)

Usb keyboard no longer recognised during boot process

Restore your PC before the BIOS update. BIOS updates are not required until & unless you face problems while running a software and it will prompt you for BIOS update. Do this update if its vital othewise do not intergere in the BIOS. I faced the same problem and after unistalling all drivers and again reload the original driver from MB VD slved it. Another thing in BIOS is USB setting at high-spped & full-speed. Try changing those settings and retry. Mine worked!...sodeep
