Maytag precision touch control 500 electric smoothtop lower element in oven not workking. Need part #, also is this something I can replace myself?

    the model number you included is for a cook top pleasse clarify but yes most bake elements can be replaced by the consumer very easily

SOURCE: one surface element went dead.

Make sure that element didnt come unplugged. Just push it in firmly and it should be fine.

On indicator light on my Maytag touch control 500 electric smoothtop range will not turn off, even though all burners are turned off. I also shut the power off but the light still stays on


I can't help you with this if the light will not go off on one burner then replace that switch . but if you turn the power off and the light still is on. the unit is getting power from another unknowen source . mm

The on indicator light stay on all the time on Maytag touch 500


you have a bad switch, you need to unplug the wire going to the conector marked P on one switch at a time til you find witch switch is bad. if you have turned off the breaker to it and the light is still on then the power is not off to it there is not a batery in it, careful that glass breaks easy when out of it's can

the infamous "custom control kit" its an electronic board that only control that one precision temp burner all other elements ar regular switches, if thats the one where the sound os coming form replace the control. .nothing else to do

Can't control temp of one element, is either high of off, nothing inbetween


- The infinite switch for the controller likely needs to be replaced, this part can be ordered from your nearest Jenn-air parts dealer
