Try pressing [ON] and [CLEAR] at the same time to clear all memory and reset the calculator. That may fix the problem. If it is out of warranty, I am not sure it is worth fixing.
For repairs, contact Ti at (by e-mail).

/ The diagram shows corresponding lengths in two similar figures. Find the area of the smaller figure. A. 16 cm2 B. 18 cm2 C. 20 cm2 D. 36 cm2

Your question is not clear at all. What are all those area measures in cm^2?
Take two segments that correspond to one another and for which you have the lengths.
This will allow you to find the scale factor k.
k= (length of a segment in smaller figure)/(length of the corresponding segment in larger figure).
Area of smaller figure =k^2(area of larger figure)
In the formula above insert the area of the larger figure as given to you or as calculated by you using the shape and dimensions of the figure.

The words FIX DEG appear on the screen and I can't get rid of it. It doesn't calculate properly

DEG says that the angle unit is set to degrees. You can change it to RADians, or GRADs. However much you want to get rid of all of them you will always have one of them. Learn to live with them.
FIX says that the decimal displays will always show a fixed number of decimals. You can decide how many you keep. Apparently your calculator is configured not to show any decimal digits: the number of fixed digits is set to zero. Change it to some other number
There are other display formats : Engineering ENG, and Scientific (SCI)
There is another format (possibly 2) called Norm 1 or Norm 2.
Set you calculator to one of the Normal formats.
Press SHIFT MODE to enter (Setup) and configure.
Advice: Learn to use your calculator. The best way to achieve mastery is to look inside the manual whenever you do not understand something.

How do i clear the eng. function?

Your calculator's display is set to engineering notation, where the exponents of ten are always a multiple of three. Such calculators usually have at least three display formats: engineering, scientific, and fixed decimal.

Depending on the calculator, there are keys (or shifted keys) marked "FIX", "SCI", and "ENG", or a mode setting to change the display format. Use the key or mode setting to change the display mode to one of your liking.

If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply to this post and specify the make and model of your calculator.

Number segments sometimes dont show properly

The calculator is showing its age. If your calculator has the button cell battery you should think about replacing them. If you have the solar version expose it to some sun. It is keeps doing it so frequently that you nolonger trust it, maybe you should get a better calculator.

The numbers are distorted, A 9 looks like a 5 and 8 like 6 etc. Please help

There isn't anything you can do. You have a whole segment out. You'll be better off to buy a new calculator, instead of trying to fix the segment. You can check your "Warranty" information if any to see if your covered.

Casio fx-9860G graphics calculater, vertical line segment

I am not sure how you can create such function (the range limitation do not work for x=c) but you can draw a vertical segment, just do not call it a function.

Draw a graph Y1=0
Then press SKETCH function key and use the F6 key to cycle through the TABS at the bottom of the screen. Look for the TAB named PEN. and click the function key below it.

Use the arrows to move the cursor to a spot on the screen (near the bottom), Press EXE to fix the starting point of the segment. Then use the Up arrow to draw a vertical segment from bottom to top.

Need to reset display on a casio 115es so only the zero shows up.

Press [SHIFT][MODE] to access (SETUP). Select [6:Fix]. then enter a number between 0 and 9. That will determine how many decimal digits the display will show. Entering 2 or 3 seems reasonable.

Sharp microwave 1200 watts keypad showing

Not a complete answer, but may help describe problem: Our R-510B should be the same except for color, and for several years it has intermittently messed up its display. The left side two segments on the units digit won't light up. So a digit 8, without the two vertical bars on the left, comes out as a letter E reversed left to right. Any digit that uses the two left segments (traditionally labelled segments E and F when talking about 7-segment displays) comes out wrong. Every thing else works fine. I can't tell if this is your problem.
This is almost surely a bad contact at the interface between the LCD display panel and the PC board: Typically there is a "squishy" conductive strip that connects them, and I expect grease has gotten in there. If so careful disassembly and cleaning with a mild solvent should fix it. Since we can live with it, and it usually fixes itself in a few weeks, I have not got around to taking it apart.
