SOURCE: no power on Hitachi 50UX588

Try STK 110, 120, 150 or 180....the convergence amplifier chips can cause most Hitachi projection screens... Also possible corresponding resistors. NTE makes these type chips but cant recall part #. THe above mentioned are Sanyo design/part# These leds help determine a fault in their assigned part of circuit

SOURCE: Hitachi 50V710 has a yellowish circle in the middle of the screen

If you're good with electronics you can probably do it yourself. It's the price of the part that hurts ... around $1000.

I have a hitachi 50v710 I replaced the bulb now it wont work

EASY THING TO DO HERE IS REMOVE LAMP and see if it went in perfectly---when you have one problem--then replace a part and have something different usually something happened when you replaced the part.

It is always possible the new part is bad but you should have a different indication of some kind.

I try to turn it on and i hear the click then the power light starts flashing and so do the temp light and lamp light

the click usually means you need to get a new bulb. The bulb is trying to ignite but wont then you get the flashing lights

My 50v710 will not power up at all. it does not even go into the diagnostic mode to give me a code thru the led's on the front. The bulb is good and the two safty switchs that are behind the bulb and at...

Sounds like you may have a bad power supply board. You can find a service manual at http://www.techlore.com/. Go about half way down the page and to the right and I think it says get manuals. Click on that and I think they have a free one. You may have to join the site to get it be its free to join. Hope this is helpful.

Color on tv is not right after we changed the bulb. Model # 50V710

you need a new light engine, very common problem, you could get hitachi to send you the parts no charge if you press them enough, will save you $600 in parts.

My Hitachi 50V710 has both indicator lights blinking and does not display any image. Temp LED and Lamp LED. But I hear the fan running and the lamp is the same I've always had. Whats wrong?

With both LED's flashing sounds like a bad lamp to me. Not uncommon for Hitachis LCD projections to have that symptom. Cjeck your owners manual for the light flash code. Good luck..

Lamp has been replaced but TV wont power up?

If the lamp is a known good one, the next most likely suspects are the lamp ballast/power supply board or a mis-aligned lamp door. There's an interlock switch which opens when the lamp door is removed. Try removing and re-installing the lamp and the door.

Hitachi 50v710 turns off after about 1 minute

this is a very common problem with lcd and projection screen.. what is happening power supply are being over loaded manufacture did not think about the long term use of game and computer graphics which put out a higher amout of graphics which over works the power supply over time... but they did make them easily replaceable with in unit thier usally connect to main board with plug lamen terms...

if possible take unit apart locate wire from the socket for power cord follow wire to power supply disconnect.. socket maybe be directly attached to powersupply module either way detach locate part number on board call manufactuer order new one or take it to your local tv shop and have them replace items onboard that are bad

Hitachi 50v710

Light Engine and Optical Block are the same thing ... just different names. It's listed twice many times so that it's easier to search on the web. Hopefully Hitachi will do something about it some day. I plan on letting everyone out there know about it so we can all go after Hitachi. There is a Suit filed against them for the 50v500 set that has the same types of problems ... perhaps it will cover the problems with the 50v710 also. Hitachi did absolutely nothing to help me with the problem. I had to find the part and fix it myself.
