Hi

Thanks for using FixYa.This error occurs after the TV crosses 8000 hrs. After this error appears you'll need to replace the lamp and also get the ballast checked.
Please note that replacing the lamp yourself is not recommended, until you are a qualified repair tech or know how to deal with high voltage circuits. Also note that the TV contains very high value of voltages even when it is switched off.
However, if the TV is new or is 2-3 yrs old then it is preferred to reset the TV from service mode. You can enter the service mode by---
Write down the original setting just in case you have to go back.

1. TV turned on
2. Press 'Vol down' button on the set.
3. Press '9' button on the remote and hold. You are now in the Adjustment mode.
4. Use the 'Channel up' or ‘Channel down' to select the item.
5. Write down the old value of the item before changing.
6. Use Volume up and down adjust the value.
7. When you have made all the adjustments you want turn the set off to exit.

Or try this procedure—

Write down the original setting just in case you have to go back.

1. TV turned on
2. Press 'Mute' button on the remote.
3. Press 'Mute' button on the remote again and hold.
4. Press the 'Menu' button at the TV. You are now in the Adjustment mode.
4. Use the 'Channel up' or ‘Channel down' to select the item.
5. Write down the old value of the item before changing.
6. Use Volume up and down adjust the value.
7. When you have made all the adjustments you want turn the set off to exit.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

My toshiba model#52hm84 has low light and will not switch high & low light settings

It may be the lamp and be advised---if this set has the quick on feature in the menu it will shorten the life of the lamp.

If there: it does not fully turn lamp off when set is shut down--lamp is lit at about 40 percent!

Dim picture usually is the lamp.

Yes XL2400 is correct number. Replace Lamp message is a timed message that will reset and turn off if you unplug TV when lamp is removed and replaced.

I recently replaced the lamp bulb...it worked for a day and now I have sound and no picture and when you turn the tv on I get red flashing lights...and the after they are done flashing the light is blue.

You could have gotten a defective lamp. Try another lamp. Since you have a Toshiba youll be using it even if you don't need it now. Toshibas have short lamp life. If lamp does not fix then the light engine will have to be removed and sent to Toshiba to be rebuilt. They are no longer available.

Projection lamp nearing end of life replace lamp still coming on

Along with the instructions for the lamp installation, you should have revceived instructions on how to reset the lamp counter. If not, this operation is listed in the owner's manual. If you can not locate that manual, please confirm your model number and I will post the instructions. Since the counter has not been reset, the TV will continue to show the "error" message.
