Question about Apple 160 GB iPod Classic (Silver) + Deluxe Accessory Kit (MB145LLA/K2)

1 Answer

My 160g classic iPod was in my computer bag and got wet

In an adjoining pouch to where the ipod was, my water bottle leaked out...wasn't soaking but everything was really damp. the iPod looked as if it had a lot of moisture at the display screen. I don't know how long it was exposed to the dampness, and when I discovered it I tried drying it with a blowdryer and leaving it out in the open air for a couple of weeks hoping that it would dry out. After two solid weeks its still not powering up, even when I connect to the PC or pod dock.. Is there anything else that I can do to try fix this problem?

My ipod 160gb got wet and know it wont turn on but when I try to charge it the screen blinks

1st - how long ago did it get wet?
2nd - have you stored it in a bag of uncooked rice for at least 24 hours? (You can wrap it in a tissue to keep dust out of the dock)

If you haven't done the second above - regardless of how long ago it got wet - you should try this BEFORE trying anything else using electric current!! You may do more damage if there's water inside the case.

My ipod was in my bag and a water bottle emptied into my purse. The ipod with in a skin, which was wet. I am unable to get anything on my ipod, the screen is black and will not turn on. It will not...

Try putting the Ipod in a ziploc bag with some uncooked rice. The rice will absorb any moisture still trapped inside. Leave it for a few days and it might work again. It depends on how long it stayed wet. It worked with my son's Ipod after he jumped into a swimming pool with the Ipod in his pocket. Good Luck

Wet ipod classic

There is a website that shows you how to dismantle the ipod classic oso you can take off the back plate so you can let it sit and dry. Also brush off any residue from the water. If all of that fails you can send it to an independent ipod classic repair company.

Ipod 160g, dead. May have gotten wet.

Yes unfortunately, if the battery has gotten wet, the battery must have fried itself, or burned out. You can replace the battery at an Apple store, but becareful if you are going to do it yourself as you may accidently break it permanently. It may cost you about $40-$70 im guessing if you go to the apple store, but thats the safest and smartest way if you want to keep your Ipod.

I pod got wet wont work

Ipon the ipods case up. then Put the ipod in a zip lock bag full of uncooked raw white rice. seal the bag and leave it in there for 2 days. rice absorbs water. it should dry it up.
dont try to plug the ipod in or it will fry the circuit and you will destroy it.
If you need to know how to open an ipod case go to my website.

I can't erase songs etc. fro my ipod classic 160g. I folloed the instructions but did not succeed. Please help.

Make sure you have the 'Manually manage music and videos' option checked. Click on the arrow next to your iPod and then click on 'Music' from the drop down. Now you can select which songs you don't want. Right click and delete.

No video from a new 160G ipod

There is a known incompatibility with 6th gen iPods and the DNX7100. Try to find a 5.5 gen iPod or wait until Kenwood releases a software patch.
