Re: joy stick problems.
Test the device in another application to confirm if the issue is specific to that application.
If the Logitech device functions properly in a
different application, then the issue may be directly related to the
application. If so, please contact the manufacturer of that software
for application specific troubleshooting.
If the issue is present in multiple applications, the issue may be
specific to the computer itself. Please test the Logitech device on
another compatible computer. If it functions properly on a different
system, then there may be an issue with your computer. Please contact
the manufacturer of your computer for system specific diagnostics.
If you see this issue on multiple computers, your Logitech device may be defective.the link below will take you to the updated fixes for that joysitck http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/downloads/&cl=us,en?selectedcrid=411&selectedcid=302#

Is either getting a new one or try to swap out a good Joy stick from another controller, I am having the same problem and I already gone thru 4 controllers. I really wish they can fix the Joy stick slacking so easy................................ at 53.00 CAd a pop which normally last me no more than 10 months+.
i had this problem to, and your either going to have to replace the joy stick, or if your lucky you can take it out, clean it and it may go again. if you want to change the joystick, your gonna have to remove the
faceplate. get a small phillips head screw driver. the first thing you
should do is put the psp face down on a flat suface. next remove the
two screws on the right of the console, and the one on the very bottom
on the underside of the console. now, take the battery out and there
should be two stickers underneath one black scrwe and one silver screw.
remove the black one. now, you only have one screw left, but problem is
its under neath the warranty sticker and if you remove, you remove your
warranty. it is possible to take it off using a hair dryer, just so
long as you dont damage the sticker. once you have the sticker off, the
faceplate will just pop off so just take out the screws on the back of
the joy stick, slap your new one in, put it back together and away you
Well, assuming that your machine is an S.C.P.H.-39001/ 30000-50000 model, there should be two U.S.B. Ports on the front of your machine surrounded by a blue square, just below the memory cards and Controllers.
