On my screen I keep seeing red vertical stripes. How do I get rid of this?

Hi,

You can try to hook up an external monitor. If the vertical linea are visible on the external display, try to update your video card driver. If it is not showing in the external monitor, You are having an LCD problem.

If you don't have any external monitor, go to BIOS setup and check if the lines are visible, if yes, you're having an LCD/screen problem. You need to replace either the LCD cable, LCD inverter or LCD itself.

Hope this helps.

Thin Red Line on Left Side of HP Pavilion DV2000 Lap Top Screen

Majority of time it's the lcd that has a problem which creates the red line, otherwise it's the GPU (video processor).

Try hooking up your computer to an external monitor. If you see the line on the external chances are it's the lcd.

This method of testing isn't fool proof but either way the problem is hardware related.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

this is a very common problem if you always hav your llaptop on then its basically fried into your screen. if not and u damaged it somehow then you need a replacement. and if none of thats the case your monitor got 2 overheated or maybe one of your lcd cords coming from the mother board(hard drive) of your laptop is loose or damaged by heat

Vertical lines in my laptop screen

Try using an external monitor, every laptop has a blue VGA connector, just connect a monitor there and check is those lines
disappear,if it does, probably you have a problem with the internal connection of your monitor to the motherboard.

HP Pavilion ZD8000 vertical lines issue

Hi,
In answer to your question. It may be a screen problem. as the screen has a Matrix of vertical and horizontal line configuration.
I,d suggest trying the laptop/computer on an external monitor or screen. if it works fine on an external. then it could be assumed that the TFT Panel or invertor has a fault.
if the picture/display still has vertical lines on an external monitor, then the fault may lie, with the Mainboard.

Process of elimination, before spending any Money :)
