I just bought a new Kodak ESP 3 all in one printer and I am having troubles with the CD installing it got an error message and I tried to stopit from installing and it didn't stop. Now it wont install what should I do

Try a new USB cable. Scanners require bidirectional communication with the computer and thus can fail when printer itself works. (If you use a print server or USB hub, try a direct connection.) Also try changing USB ports.

Another thing to try is to remove the TWAIN driver and reinstall it. This requires the original software CD from Kodak.
1. From your computer desktop, click Start > Run. (In Windows 7, type run in the search box then click on Run.)
2. Type %windir%, then click OK.
3. Double-click twain_32.
4. Right-click Kodak, then select Delete.
5. Insert the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software CD into the appropriate drive, then go to D: > printer > scanner.
NOTE: The CD is indicated by D: above. The CD drive may be a different letter on your computer.
6. Double-click aioscannr.msi, then follow the instructions to remove it.
7. Go to D: > printer > scanner, then double-click aioscannr.msi, and follow the instructions to install the file.
8. Open Home Center Software:
a. Select Scan Documents and Pictures.
b. Scan a document.

Try installing the latest software from www.kodak.com/go/aiodownloads


If still the same issue, call Kodak tech support......for some advance trouble shooting or may be printer will be replaced

Try turning off the printer then restart the computer then try again

if you cant install using the Cd or you dont have the Cd. You can download it at kodak.com/go/downloads

2 things to discount first

1. Are you using a new Kodak cartridge, Kodak like other printer suppliers use a recognition chip in there cartridge in an attempt to get past the refillers, try a genuine replacement cartridge

2. Is it possible that more than one cartridge needs replacement, this will also throw up the same message

If the answer to both these are No contact the supplier of the cartridge and inform them of the trouble or contact Kodak directly

Kodak printer ESP-5 CD version 3.2 is not compatible with Vista. You will need to upgrade to Firmware 4.3 Windows XP/Vista from Kodak Printers. The drivers may be found here:

It means it has "paper jam"error message. This is a common issue w/ the ESP printers of Kodak especially if its brand new.


Try the steps below.


1.Open the printer access door.
2.Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
3.Reseat the printhead.

a. Lift the printhead release latch
b. Reseat the printhead, pushing firmly on the white label on the printhead (if provided) or the center of the printhead, until it clicks into place.

NOTE: You may also visit www.kodak.com/go/printheadsupport for demonstration on reintalling the printhead

4. Close the access door.
5. wait for the printer to initialize.

If issue persists, the printer itself needs to be replaced. Call 1.800.421.6699

Reinstall and then install it again should work....
