Question about LG LFC25760ST 25 Cu. Ft. Panorama French Door Refrigerator w/ Glide N' Serve Drawer & Internal LED T...
We just had a problem with our 2 year-old French door LG fridge, after the lights inside wouldn't turn off after the doors are closed. The inside got very warm, and I think if we had not caught this in time, there might have been a fire. This seems to be an on going problem, and LG should come clean and there should be a recall on this before there is a fire, and maybe someone were to die.
We lost a lot of our food, and had to throw out at least $20 worth of stuff. We called the 800 number on the manual, and the man told us it would be fixed for "free," but they are aware of this problem, so what will it take before they just come clean, and do the right thing?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

do you have mechanical button switch that should close the light if you close the door?... they could be defective. try to look for these button switch that the doors presses as you close them. if they dont have, then they may be using a magnetic door switch which would be very hard to locate and trouble shoot.

There is a service bulletin related to this, dealing with deformation / melting of the lamp cover. The fix is to change the lamp wire harness to one that now has a thermal protector incorporated in it (part number 6621JK2003B) along with changing the main PCB board to one that uses a larger relay for this function (part number 6871JB1423N).
In case you want or need to replace the following,
The lamp cover is part number 3110JA1096A and the lamp holder is part number 3034JA1009A
I tried to cut and paste a few photo's, but was unsuccessful. Sorry. Make sure to test that fans and light switches work after part changes.
