SOURCE: ac power

There are a couple of fuses in that power supply. But if it is a 412 or an F12 most likely you have developed cracks in the solder connections of that particular LVPS.
I would recommend replacing the LVPS.
Roughly a 250 dollar price on that power supply.

SOURCE: I have a HP Deskjet

There is only one way to find out if it is an issue with the printer or the Power cord.

Normally every HP printer has 2 parts. One cord connects the Printer to an Adapter. the Adapter cord then connects to the Wall outlet.

Now that you have connected the printer to working outlet, Check after 10-15 mins if the Adapter ( black box ) is warm or cold. If the Adapter is warm and the green LED light on adapter is glowing, then it could an issue with the Cord or the Printer.

Try with another Adapter or power cord to diagnose.

Regards,
Shawn

My Lexmark X5630 does not switch on, what can I do?

1 Press to turn the printer off. 2 Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet. 3 Gently remove the power supply from the printer. 4 Reconnect the power supply to the printer. 5 Plug the power cord into the wall outlet. 6 Press to turn the printer on.
Make sure the cord on the back of the printer is pushed all the way into the socket, it should only fit one way. If that fails, check that there is power at the outlet you are using.

Hp laserjet 1020 meltdown

Hi,

Try this out:

Some printers require time to turn on. These printers may or may not give feedback in the form of blinking light(s). Wait up to a minute for the power light to come on before proceeding with the steps below. Instructions If the printer uses a power adapter (module), follow the instructions below. If the printer uses only a power cord, see the section below entitled “ If the printer uses only a power cord .” If the printer uses a power module Follow the steps below to ensure power is properly supplied to the printer:
  1. Check the power module part number against the part number listed in the User’s Guide to ensure the proper power adapter is being used.
  2. Disconnect the power cord or adapter from the wall outlet.
  3. Disconnect the printer data cable from the printer.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the printer, wait thirty seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from the power module and reconnect the power cord to the power module. This may not be necessary if the power module has a permanently attached power cord.
  6. Reconnect the power cord directly into a working wall outlet. If the power cord was plugged into a surge protector or power strip, plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet instead. NOTE: "The HP Photosmart 8100, 8400, and HP Deskjet 6000 series printer power cords feature a green LED built into the power plug. If the LED is not glowing, the power module may have failed. Proceed to step 7 below.
  7. If the printer still will not turn on or the power LED built into the power cord is not glowing, plug the printer into a wall outlet in another room. If the printer or power LED turns on when connected to an electrical outlet in another room, there is a problem with the power in the original room.
  8. If there is still no power to the printer, then the power module, cord, or printer may be defective. Try the power module/cord on another HP Deskjet or Photosmart printer, of the same model if possible, to see if the power module is functioning. If the power LED is still not glowing, the power module may be defective. Replace the power module and cord.
  9. If the power module/cord works on the other printer, then this printer is defective. Service your printer.
  10. If you cannot determine whether the problem is the printer or the power module/cord, or if another printer is not available to test with, replace the power module/cord first. If this does not resolve the issue, service your printer.
If the printer uses only power cord Follow the steps below to ensure power is properly supplied to the printer:
  1. Check the power module part number against the part number listed in the User’s Guide to ensure the proper power adapter is being used.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Disconnect the printer data cable from the printer.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the printer, wait thirty seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  5. Reconnect the power cord directly into a working wall outlet. If the power cord was plugged into a surge protector or power strip, plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet instead.
  6. If the printer still will not turn on, plug the printer into a wall outlet in another room. If the printer turn on when connected to an electrical outlet in another room, there is a problem with the power in the original room.
  7. If there is still no power to the printer, then the power cord or printer may be defective. Try the power cord on another HP Deskjet or Photosmart printer to see if the power cord is functioning.
  8. If the power cord does not work on the other printer, it is defective. Replace the power cord.
  9. If the power cord works on the other printer, then this printer is defective. Service your printer.
  10. If another printer is not available to test with, carefully inspect the power cord for damage.
  11. Inspect the power cord for visible damage. If the power cord is damaged, replace the power cord first. If this does not resolve the issue, or if the power cord looks fine, then service your printer.

Goodluck,

Re hp 1315 all in one the printer does not ge switched on after connecting the power cord. is there any electrical fuse which has blown off. if yes where is it located

Make sure you power cord is plugged in tightly on both the wall outlet and the transformer. Make sure the plug from the transformer is plugged tightly into the printer. If all this looks good check the outlet, or switch outlets. Then replace the power cord. If you have access to another PSC1315 try using its transformer.

The long and short of this is there is no fuse in the printer its self. If all the above fail, in all likely hood, you have a bad printer. At the price of these printers today, replacing it will probably cost you less than the ink you purchase for it.

Relocate to new home, plugged in printer and turn on switch- nothing happens. Is there a fuse I can check?

First thing I would Check is that the outlet you have plugged it into has power just to humor me plug a known working device into the same outlet to see that the outlet has power if it does then check that the power cord to printer is plugged into the socket and back of printer tightly also some power cords for printers seperate in the middle near the power converter be sure that is plugged in snuggly, If that all checks out Check inside the printer for damage which may have happened during the move, open all printer access doors and visually inspect all areas inside printer for signs of damage. If that all Looks Good Go Here to get support on this subject.

Thumbs Up if Helpful and Feedback is Appreciated!!!

hey mr /ms

i hope i can be helpfull ..so plez tell me if the solution doesn t work ..and don t forget to rate me plez

Solution #1: Check the power cord at both ends. It might have been pulled out of the wall when you vacuumed last week, or the end that plugs into the printer might have come loose. If it did, plug it back in. If this is a new installation, make sure you didn't plug it into a power outlet that's connected to a wall switch. If the outlet is mounted upside down (the ground plug or "third prong" is at the top), it's a switched outlet.

Solution #2: It might be a blown fuse on the power supply. All dot matrix printers have fuses, and on most printers, the fuse is located next to the power cord under a small black cap that you turn slightly and then pull off. If it is the fuse (you'll see a melted piece of metal inside), replace it with the exact same fuse type. Radio Shack and your corner electron...
