You dont have a pilot light on the newer models when you turn the knob on a glow bar lights up and after it pull so many amps it will open the gas valve and oven will light. so all you have to do is turn on gas to the stove /plug it in and after the gas bleeds through the range it should light if not you will need to call a service tech. to find out why. good luck

How do I troubleshoot a Carrier Gas Furnace 58GS125-JA that Pillot stayed On but Burner will not fire

Good afternoon Victor. It is a good sign that your pilot light is staying on. That means that the gas valve is recognizing the open flam and is keeping the pilot valve open. Now onto your issue. Can you tell me if the unit is a standing pilot or intermittent pilot(doe the pilot stay on all the time or is it lit with a spark upon a call for heat)?

Hello, i lite the pillot and and start up fire so its working and some time during the day the pillot goes out?

If you have a standing pilot that wont stay lit and you have to keep relighting it, it can only be a couple of things that will do this.
1. Try tighting the thermocouple at the gas valve. (this is a thin copper line that goes from the gas valve and goes to the pilot light.)
2. Make sure that the tip of the thermocouple is in the pilot light flame.
3. Make sure that the thermocouple is clean.

if you have done these and it still doesnt stay lit, buy a new thermocouple.

Pilot light is still on when regulator is turned to off position

I have never owned the item you are having a problem with, but I have used and owned many gas items with a pilot light.

From what I have learnt over the years, I would not worry about the pilot light growing when the unit is turned on, or the noise. However, if the pilot light is staying on for more than a minute (Will burn excess gas in the pipes) or so after you shut the gas off, then your regulator could be leaking. If this is the case, then you should contact your local propane dealer and ask them to replace the regulator.

"IF THE REGULATOR IS LEAKING, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PUT THE TANK IN AN ENCLOSED VEHICLE!"

I have a kenmore stove whose burners wont light. oven works fine. burners will spark but no gas comes out. recently I turned off the power to the stove by turning the fuse off. what do I need to do to get...

If the gets give no gas then sounds like a Thermocouple, this is a device that allows the gas to come on after a period of time ensuring that the pilot is lit and heated up this thermocouple, once it heats it then allows gas to enter and ignite the main burner..hope this helps ,please leave feedback.

Hi i have astoves gas cooker, model 600gdoa and i

Stoves 600GDOa - when the glass lid is lifted to start cooking it turns on (anticlockwise direction) the switch, which turns on the gas - unlit. I wouldn't believe it unless it happened to me. At the moment the switch is taped shut but I would like some ideas.

Installed stove, no flames on burners?

It may still have air in the system, turn on one burner on and allow the gas to flow with a lighter in the path of the gas see if the gas lights of at least explodes I mean until it goes Poof, once it does that if it does not light then pull the top off the stove and adjust the vents on the pipes to focus the flames and how much air is blended in with the gas, also turn the burner so that the holes are half way open, I am not sue about your stove but most have an adjustment by turning the burner 1/4 of a turn to change the flame characteristics. if this does not help post here and I will see what else I can find out on your stove. I need the modle of the stove and the regulator number where the gas hooks up.

Gas stove makes clicking noise when turning on

When a gas stove is clicking, it means it is trying to ignite the burner. If the knob is held in the ignite position for more then 3 seconds and the burner does not ignite, it means that (1) the gas is shut off to the stove, (2) she does not have gas service set-up yet at the apartment, or (3) the gas nozzles feeding the burner are dirty and clogged.

Most of the time, when you move to a new apartment, you need to call the gas company and have the gas turned on, unless it is included in your rent. Either way, when a house or apartment is unoccupied, the gas is turned off for safety reasons. I would contact the landlord to be sure.

I have a used kenmore propane gas stove that i just bought from someone. We have hooked it up but can only get the oven to come on. The stove top burners will not come on. We we turn on the burners we do...

In the old days stoves were lit with a match. If this does not work for you it would be due to the stove's lines remaining "airlogged" after the move. The oven purged and ignited more easily because it has a much larger orifice, so the air bled more quickly. I expect if you were to leave one burner turned on long enough for the air to bleed out you will find it to ignite normally. Do not leave the stove to bleed unattended, and if you encounter a strong smell of the gas, turn off the burner, and ventilate the room as needed. The smell of gas would indicate that gas is present, it may be possible that a lead came disconnected from the ignition module in the back of the stove. Again if this is the case, the ol' match will light the burner. Be Careful!
