    Dear keith

I have the same problem with the N913
Most of the times that i turn it on a box comes up notifying "Not Optimum mode Recommended Mode 1280x1024@60Hz"
This is pretty annoying because the only way to make the monitor work again is to pull the a/c plug for some time and then replug it .
When i do that it works fine until i try to change resolution or the monitor suspend from the pc comes on ....

If you find something please contact me at alifjohn@gmail.com

    thnx

Exact same issue as above - just started a week ago - have the monitor nearly 3 years and never had a problem before - only solution that works it to unplug it for a while and start again

  • rquental Sep 06, 2008

Same problem here. The BIOS boot screen and XP splash screen don't display - I just get the 'not optimum mode' message. Tried an old P4 845 chipset with Intel onboard graphics, a Dell laptop with ATI graphics, and a newer P4 with an old GeForce 4 card.

Just got this message today aswell, i have changed my settings to 1280x960 and pulled the monitor out of the electricity and hooked it up again. Now i can use every resolution exept the optimum on the monitor mentions (1280x1024 60Hz)

  • swisstom Sep 16, 2008

Same problem 2 Month ago: i have changed my settings to 1024x768 60Hz and pulled the monitor out of the electricity and hooked it up again. After that i can use the monitor exept the optimum resolution on (1280x1024 60Hz).

Today: After 2 Weeks non-used i have the same message and i have tried all possible resolutions und Hz. Now it looks definitivly out-of-order.

    Anybody a solution? thanks

Had the exact same problem as the people here with a SyncMaster 913N. I went to a guy in my town, skilled in fixing electronics and he repaired the LCD which was out of warranty by now (3 and a half years old). Don't know to this day what was wrong, from what he said a chip had to be replaced. Another way of fixing this kind of problem is to "rewrite the software", probably he meant rewriting the ROM of the LCD, hell knows. This repairing cost me aprox. 50$

Same here. The unplug/inplug of the monitor seems to be the workaround. For now, I boot up Windows with the 913 unplugged and connect it after a couple of minutes when Windows has booted up. As mentioned before, this bug only happened to me after shifting to a PCIe card, Nvidia 6600 LE driver.

Monitor gives error when i change resolution

The native resolution of this monitor is 1280x1024 @60Hz, if you set your PC video resolution higher than the monitor can support, you will get an FORMAT NOT SUPPORTED or something like that.
Are you trying to get higher resolution?

Please leave rating if it helps.

Why does the monitor say input not support on my screen, and it keeps moving all around my screen. Please advise

Your computer's videocard is set to resolution/refresh rate that your monitor does not support. Turn on the computer and keep pressing F8 until the windows boot menu appear on the screen. Use arrow keys to choose VGA mode. You will get bigger than usual icons on the screen. Use Display properties from Control Panel to set the proper resolution.

To fix this you should boot into safe mode and lower your display resolution and then after rebooting into normal mode set it to the LCD's correct native resolution and all should be fine.

on ooptions screen, click box that says only show settings the monitor can handle. Then try changing the horizonal and vertical settings on monitor to match it up with your settings.

Auto Adjustment won't work on Samsung 2253BW 22" LCD monitor

I looked up your monitor and that resolution is not supported. Which means auto adjustment will not work.
The video card will compensates for that, and resizes the picture for a display resolution that shows the picture anyway, (if it can) but isn't what you wanted. Your best bet is to use resolutions that are compatible, or get a (different) monitor.

There is a pop up screen that says "OUT OF RANGE" and keeps moving from corner to corner around the screen. What do i need to do to fix this?

maybe your screen resolution doesn't match with the monitor resolution , so minimize you're screen resolution
maybe you can try with 800 * 600 and go up one by one and see which maximun it support

Error message

Kathryn, In the lower left, under the screen there is a row of buttons... One is labled "AUTO" have you tried pressing auto and if so does anything happen?? If not try pressing "MENU" first and then "AUTO"... What we are attempting to do is to get the monitor to accept the current settings so we can get the screen up and then deal with changing the resolution... In a Windows operating system the resolution is changed by going to "START" - "SETTINGS" - "CONTROL PANEL" - "DISPLAY" and in that window click on the "SETTINGS" tab and reset your resolution. This one might take some better communication that emails - because it would be easier to know in real-time how the monitor is reacting as you input various things... You can give me a call at 360-642-4993 or we can set-up a live chat. I'm assuming since you were able to place this post you have a second computer to work from? Bill
