Someone deleted stuff from your C:\Windows folder, you have to repair your installation using a windows xp disc. Or reformat it and reinstall it.

I tried the DOS command to unhide folders on my USB (G:/> attrib -r -a -s -h *.*) it show up like File not found - *.* on the cmd. i double check my format for the usb and it's a G: wad should...

I would suggest doing it from the file explorer and not the DOS. That is assuming your are using a a OS like windows, and not DOS. First you need to go to Folder and search options and make sure you can see hidden files and folders. Then navigate to you USB drive and right click the folder, go to properties and and hide it. If you aren't sure on how do that exactly, just reply back with your OS information and what your trying to do, and I will give more exact detail oriented steps.

Hi and welcome simply_marco !

Your pc still seems to be infected . You should first eliminate the virus(es) by changing your antivirus ;
Download http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/
It's free and the best antivirus in it's category ( better than Norton according to my modest opinion ).;
Make full scan of your entire system .
Download now http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
It's a terrific malware killer abd it's free . Make an additional full scan with this tool .
When all done , go to the control panel , select folders options and check show hidden files .
The chance is now serious your machine will respond correctly .
Good luck !

Best regards ,
Fanaudi .

Transfer foxfro dos-dased attendance application to other PC

well the good news because it dos based, it should be very self contained for example if the program is in a folder called foxapp, copy this folder and sub folders and all contents to the new machine,

if it don't work you missed something , just a case of having a look at other folder names most fox apps I wrote were contained within it own folder.

Ntldr is missing, this information is regularly coming even though I am trying to format my laptop acer 4715z with cd also when once it was it catched booting and started the process of formating after...

1. You must have a copy of "ntldrusb.zip" file.
USB: Right click the ntldrusb.zip file and choose "Extract All" Next>Next>FinishThen Insert your USB Stick into the working computer (remove any other USB sticks, and be sure there isn't anything on the USB stick that you want since we are about to erase it);
Double-click HPUSBFW.EXE in the ntldrusb folder;
Check "Create a DOS startup disk" and "using DOS system files located at" then press the grey button with the "...";
A box will come up asking you which folder to select, point it to the "dos system files" folder;
Press OK; Press Start; Press Yes; Let it run for just a few minutes till a new box comes up; Press OK; Press Close;
Open the "putonusb" folder, copy all the files, paste them onto the usb stick (just in the root of the drive, like E:\);
Eject the USB Stick; Remove it from your computer;
Place it into the computer with the "NTLDR is missing" issue, reboot it.
You will see the Windows 98 screen pop up for a second, then you will see a black screen with white letters prompting you to "replace boot sector of the drive C: (y/n)", press the y key;
It will go to a C:\ prompt, reboot the computer by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del; (now go to step 4)

4. Put the new floppy/cd-r/usb you have just created into the computer that gets the NTLDR is missing error message, turn the broken computer off.

USB: Right click the ntldrusb.zip file and choose "Extract All" Next>Next>Finish
Then Insert your USB Stick into the working computer (remove any other USB sticks, and be sure there isn't anything on the USB stick that you want since we are about to erase it);
Double-click HPUSBFW.EXE in the ntldrusb folder;
Check "Create a DOS startup disk" and "using DOS system files located at" then press the grey button with the "...";
A box will come up asking you which folder to select, point it to the "dos system files" folder;
Press OK; Press Start; Press Yes; Let it run for just a few minutes till a new box comes up; Press OK; Press Close;
Open the "putonusb" folder, copy all the files, paste them onto the usb stick (just in the root of the drive, like E:\);
Eject the USB Stick; Remove it from your computer;
Place it into the computer with the "NTLDR is missing" issue, reboot it.
You will see the Windows 98 screen pop up for a second, then you will see a black screen with white letters prompting you to "replace boot sector of the drive C: (y/n)", press the y key;
It will go to a C:\ prompt, reboot the computer by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del; (now go to step 4)

4. Put the new usb you have just created into the computer that gets the NTLDR is missing error message, turn the broken computer off.

f you get back into Windows again, you can change that "1st Try This" menu by going into Start > Control Panel > PerformanceAndMaintenance/System > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery section, Settings button > System Startup; then change the "Default Operating System:" to the selection that worked for you, and change the box that says "Time to display list of operating systems" to however many seconds you want (usually 1 second). Click OK twice.
