Question about Tylo SPORT-U4 Heater 4.5 kW

Open Question

Tylo Sport 6 6kw Sauna Heater tripping electrics.

I have a Tylo "Sport 6" 6kw Sauna Heater. After a couple of minutes from switch-on it is tripping the electric circuit. I have completely cleaned and checked it, and there are no obvious faults. Is this a common problem ? Any advice as to the likely cause ? Many tks. Peter.

Remove the unit bottom panel (2 small screws) and look at the quick disconnect terminals on the heater rods ( 6 heating rods - 3 on each side of the unit). If you have any corrosion on these terminals, the wires will overheat and fail, preventing the heating rods from working. If the wires did overheat, you should see melted wire insulation. Replace bad wire and quick disconnect terminals with new. Should cost less than $20.

Oil and Gas Sauna Heaters

Oil and gas heaters are the least popular heaters used in saunas.
One reason is because they're relatively inefficient compared to the others.
Some people even complain about the odor associated with the burning fuel. If they're properly vented, oil and gas heaters should have little or no unpleasant smell

Electric Sauna Heaters

Electric heaters are the most popular used in saunas.
They're easy to control with user friendly touch pads that include a timer and thermostat, and light switch,
They're also efficient and cost just pocket change to operate.
Electric heaters have controls that include a timer, thermostat, and light switch.

Wood Burning Sauna Heaters

If you have a house in the country or easy access to fire wood, a wood burning heater is a great choice for a sauna.
A wood heater may also be a good choice if you have an outdoor sauna.

Where is the safety shutoff on a Tylo super sport 7

On top of the unit/sauna, you will need to remove the roof or wood covering. It is held down with screws, usually. If your unit in fact does have a reset it will be located on the side of the control box which is located on top of the sauna.

My tylo supersport 8 sauna no longer produces heat. The timer works but there is no heat. I have checked the circuit breaker but that doesn't appear to be the problem. Any thoughts??

My name is Andy Smith i am Electrical Engineer on

Hi Andy, I am Kelly and wish to at least make an attempt to help you out. I have done quite a bit of research and like you have come up with little nothing positive.

You may have to buy your own 3 phase 24DC controlled contactor and control that with a yet another relay.

At this point you may want to call Tylo direct or email them and explain your needs to see if they can help you.

Page 8 of their installtion manual shows several 3 Phase connections
http://superiorsaunas.com/storeimages/products/heaters/tylo/tylo_elec_install.pdf

Tylo contct info:

TYLö AB, Svarvaregatan 6, S-30250 Halmstad, Sweden.
Tel +46 35 10 00 80, Fax +46 35 102580. E-mail: info@tylo.se Internet: www.tylo.se

Here is the controller you may need with a 5 meter capillary tube. it does not say if it is 3 Phase and it is mecanical.

Seriously I would contact Typo directly via the contact info above and solve your problem quickly.

The link.... for the TS-30-012

I do wish you the best.

I just bought a house with an amerec sauna. The

the 'easy' answer would be a tripped high-limit switch. Inside the generator box, there is a resettable circuit breaker to the heating element, on the top of the water tank.
kill the power to the unit, take off the shell and look for the pushbutton.
If that is the problem, there is a likely chance that the temp sensor in the shower is not working so it overheats and trips the high temp limit.

The steamer does not work in my tylo combi 8 Do you have any solution to have it fixed

When was the last time you removed the rocks and cleaned out the deposits? Replace stones if they are in bad condition. This should be done once a year. also, a limit switch could have tripped and you need a service tech to reset the switch. Hope this helps and if it doesn't, call a dealer in your area. Tylo is a swedish company but there is a N. American handler http://www.airmist.com/.
