Why do I have oil coming in the bottom of my wash tub. The washer works fine. But I have been getting large spots of oil on the clothes. How do I fix this problem?

IHAVE THE SAME PROBLEM IN MY FRIGIDAire washer dryer stach top loaded machine, the oil and smell of oil comes after finishing spin , do you have a solution because I called the company dealer in my country and they want 400 dollars to fix it, I think they are steling coz the machine is working and spinning but only little oil with smell come at the end of the washing.
never dead just depends how much time and money you want to spend
new pump $60.00 dollars
new coupling $22.00
new tub seal $15.00
transmission and tub seal $236.00
specialty tool spanner wrench $16.00
this is just parts if you decide to replace installing yourself
-If the motor was not running at all i would say you have a bad lid switch. - If the motor is definitely running then look under the washer at the interior cabinet about level with the bottom of the tub for signs of oil. If you see a ring around the case- you have a bad transmission. -If no oil MAKE SURE it is still washing and doesn't just sound like it is as you may have a bad drive coupler. -If the machine is washing, has no oil and just will not spin you may have one of the following: -wash tub fallen and contacting outer tub due to worn drive block (check for space under agitator) -item lodged between tubs- use flash light to look at all of the holes on bottom of tub as well as at top between white tub cover and inner wash tub balance ring -something jammed in pump- unusual to still have wash action as pump is still running in reverse (sucking water back) but may have something that gets driven into it when trying to drain/ spin -defective gear in transmission not allowing neutral brake to shift out to spin Good luck!
you need to have the transmission seal replaced on the top of the transmission, what you have is called a"back-wash" condition and this is the only remedy, if you want to replace it your self you need to remove the agitators hex screw, then the inner tub which you need a "spanner-wrench" then remove the outer tub and then you will be able to replace the seal on the agitator shaft
The only place there is oil in a washer is inside the transmission. If you have oil in the tub (and it didn't come from the clothes you put in) you have a bad transmission seal. It is generally cost prohivitive to replace the transmission. It's time to get a new washer. Look into the front load machines which use much less water and spin out twice as fast as top loaders. Some even have direct drive, which means no belt, transmission, or clutch.
there is no green oil in washer ..ck/detergent/fabric softner bottle close for leaks oil leak would usually be brown or almost black in color ck around top edge of washer tub for deposits of softner/detergent
