My water softener emptied im not sure how long it was empty for but I dont think it was too long I filled it with salt and now it doesnt work. It still regenerates but im getting hard water still any...

Do you mean the salt tank was empty? If so fill salt tank half way wait about 6 hrs for brine to develop. Manually regenerate softener 2x within 24 hrs. When the salt runs out the resin becomes saturated with hardness minerals. It takes at least 2 regeneration cycles back to back to completely restore soft water. Also the hot water will take some time to get soft. It will help to flush water heater after cold water is consistently soft.
I hope this helps,

I have a new water heater. However, its capacity

You could fill with hot water first then add cold to your temp request. The thing to do would of been to buy the tub with its own heater

Takes two and a half hours to run a load of dishes

They probably aren't running the hot water at the sink before starting the dishwasher. You know how it takes time to get hot water at the tap when you turn it on? well the new dishwashers use such little water, that they will fill with cold/warm water, and try to heat it up to 170+ degrees before continuing the cycle

GE super capacity heavy duty washing not filling w/hot water

On an older model washer, you probably have a bad water valve. (hot water solenoid coil electrically " open ") Newer models, now there's a can of worms. Some models use thermistatically controled water valves to limit water temps, so you may not be able to get true hot water. Also, if you are checking the temp as the machine fills, some models will only fill with cold if the lid is open. (safety feature) The only way to see what is really going on is to fill the machine with cold and use a thermometer to check the water temp, then, pump that out and fill (with the lid closed) with hot and check to see if that temp is higher. As stated previously, water temp may not really be " HOT " but may be warmer than " COLD ". That may be as good as you will be able to do, as all manufacturers are trying to reduce energy consumption. Thank your government.

My washing machine is taking a long time to fill. it just started doing this. the flow of water is very weak and as it is a super capacity washing machine it takes forever to fill up.

Have you checked the inlet filters on the water hoses ?

If you unscrew the water hoses from the machine, and look inside the connections on the machine, you should see the filters - they are usually a plastic "cage" supporting a gauze or fine mesh. These can be pulled out (you may need tweezers or fine nosed pliers) and washed under a running tap.

If this doesnt cure it, check that the water supplies where the hoses connect to your house plumbing are actually fully on and flowing properly.

Otherwise, there is probably a fault with the solenoid valve(s) on the machine that controls the flow of hot water in to your machine.
