With the back of the radio facing you, use the belt clip or a coin to wedge the battery door open.

What's your problem?

The radio, once the screws along the edge of the face are removed should lift straight out. The fauxwood plastic trim should be held in place by wire friction clips, and comes off first to reveal those screws on either side of the exposed face of the radio. some do have a torx/hex retaining screw as well holding the trim, but you can find those by looking up from the floor or opening the ash tray and/or glove box.

Hi. I have a blaunpunkt CD34 stereo in my car and it seems to be locked into one radio station as no buttons work accept the volume. It will allow me to play a cd but I can only adjust the volume on this...

is your radio come with remote control? you can confirm other function with remote control, if still working, then most likely the face plate connector connection is loose, you have to dismantle the radio out from car, and then open out the side screw secure the face plate to radio body, Unplug the face plate out from body and re assemble back to test.

The radio opens with lights and lsights go out and immediately closes. Keeps opening and closing with no sounds. After doing so for a bout a year... radio came on. However did not come back on when I...

It sounds like it could be a bad ribbon cable. There are two ribbon cables in the deck, so it could be either one, or both. There is also a face position sensor lever inside the deck that goes bad.

How do you replace the mic in my radio cant get the old one out

If you got a new mic open the radio from the back, there are 4 phillip screws on the back cover, remove the screws, then pull the back off, there is a rubber seal between the face and the cover, the seal is reusable, turn the radio face down, look at where the mic wire enters the face and there is a safety clip and a plillip screw that holds it in place, remove the screw, pull the clip and the mic wire is connected with a small 3 conductor quick-connect inside the radio. Then just replace the new mic wire and place the safety clip and screw back in place and re-connect the 3 conductor quick-connect, replace the cover and you're ready to use the radio. Good luck.

The face plate will not open far enough for the cd to eject

check radio surround to make sure it is not the wrong way around. This is just the plastic trim around the actual face of the radio. On a pioneer one side is grooved down to alow radio display to open. if its wrong way round it wont let face down whole way. it simply clicks off and turns around.

Adding a remote USB port

I solved my own problem.1 I removed radio1.gif face 2 I removed back cover of radio face to expose USB solder joints.3 I drilled a hole in the back cover of radio face over solder joints 4 I drilled a hole in front cover of radio behind face plate and lined it up with hole in back cover of face plate.5 I cut the male plug off of a USB extension cord and ran it through factory notch on the back of radio, through drilled hole on front panel of radio, thruogh drilled hole on back cover of radio face and soldered wires to back side of USB plug in. Wire colors from top to bottom are Red, White, Green, Black. Solder sheild to any of the three larger solder joints next to these connections. Make sure wires are not touching any other connections. Put radio back together and add screw that locks face to radio. Face can no longer be removed with this wire added. Now I can plug in my 8gb memory stick1.gif,hide it under the dash and have a clean looking installation.
